NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Reuters) - A U.S. soldier opened fire on a group of fellow soldiers during a morning exercise session at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, on Thursday but no one was injured at the Army base.
The soldier, whose name was not released, "is in custody after firing shots at a physical training formation" but no one was wounded, Fort Campbell said in a statement.
It provided no other details but said the matter was under investigation.
The facility, on the Kentucky-Tennessee border about 60 miles northwest of Nashville, is home to the 101st Airborne Division that has served in Iraq.

Fort Benning, 1965, BCT. We were 2d Platoon, some dickhead from 3d Platoon stepped on our well manicured (by hand, with scissors) lawn.
We were so pissed, we all donned steel pots, (no helmet liners,) entrenching tool with covers, underwear and boots, (why, I don't remember) and attacked them.
They fought back.
DSs were so delighted with our aggressive spirit, they have us an extra hour to clean our barracks that night.
We felt we had been given gold!

It obviously can`t be a soldier who follows Islam because as we all know, Islam is a religion of peace.
To: SmithL
Gee, it would be SUCH a shock if he had an Arabic name.

I joined the Navy in 3/67. We had a kid in our group who apparently had never been away from home and was clearly a loser. He had had a raging case of acne and all we could use were safety razors. He must have lost a quart of blood (exaggeration, of course). After a couple of days, even before we went over to our barracks at Great Lakes, he ended up in a corner, huddled up and crying.....color him gone.

The little history on Sgt. York is certainly worth reading by every red-blooded freeper. Absolutely gripping. Thanks for the link.
I'll never forget Gary Cooper in the role.

If it were a naval base, I'd wonder if it were a certain "Senator" from Massachusetts who, by the way, served in Vietnam and answers to the name Ketchup.IIRC this could have been a certain "Senator" for Arizona, whose Daddy was an adminiral, who himself was a POW and who crashed a plain on an aircraft carrier injuring and/or killing many true heros. He himself continues to shoot both his party and his country in the foot on a regular basis, his name is McMainiac.

I'm still trying to figure out who the wusses were.....Someone shoots at me, I'm shooting back...and I don't miss. I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6. The kid is lucky he's not dead.
How many guys doing morning PE on post are armed? Wusses?
