Thanks from a personal perspective I liked and will miss Michael Howard and I think he got a bad press unjustifiably especially in the US where certain things he said and did were taken out of context.

Personally the ones that are standing IMHO cannot hold a candle to him but then I do not know as much about Cameron and Davies as I do Howard. Michael Howard is the MP for Folkestone and Hythe which is only about 8 miles from me in Ashford. My father was actually at the Conservative Party Head Quarters in Hythe and supported him the night he was nominated as prospective MP for Folkestone and Hythe.

I am therefore concerned about this election as with Blair going at the next general election unless the Conservatives really muck up big time we stand a very good chance of getting elected. Cameron seems to be the media acceptable guy as Davies does not seem to have much charisma which unfortunately in this day and age seems to matter more than policies. Davies seems nearer my philosophy though.

Thanks for your prayers they are much appreciated.

Recruiting top notch people to run is a problem always.

President Bush and Karl Rove have done a great job of convincing a number of wonderful people to run for office.

Sometimes I prefer someone else, like I am supporting Katherine Harris now for Senate in Florida, and she was not their favored choice.

We are now looking toward a 2008 Presidential election where we don't have an obvious choice, and that is making us nervous.

God bless your winner with wisdom and stamina.
