A couple groups here just countered them at a soldier's funeral in Yakima, WA. This is a family cult who call themselves Baptists. The Baptist church has disavowed any ties with this group. Check out their websites. Godhatesfags.com and Godhatesamerica.com. I don't know how this guy is still walking around.

I don't think they would be Baptists.

They may have said they were Baptists but the church would not condone the use of any kind of bad language.

Could this be a Cindy Sheehan type setup.

This "Baptist" group is well known. It's a sect - not a church group - they have simply hijacked the name "Baptist" - but they have no relation to any Baptist I ever knew.

They are dispicable. Too bad there isn't some way to have advance notice so this scum could be greeted by FReepers.

That guy is not biblical. He's running his own cult, funded by an extortion racket built on 1st Amendment lawsuit settlements.

Ah, yes! The hateful, fanatic, bigotted Fred Phelps and his merry little band of followers comprised of some of his other crazy family members.

He claims to be the pastor of Landover Baptist Church but as I mentioned, his parishioners consist of some of his other crazy, hatefilled relatives.

He's a democrat and there are several pictures floating around the net showing him and his family meeting with Gore.

Many towns when they find out these hateful people are going to show up at a military funeral will gather together in a group large enough to hide the idiots from the funeral goers. They'll carry small flags in support of the family who has suffered the loss of someone they love.

We here on Earth may not be able to mete out proper justice to these lying bigots but I have no doubt God has a special place in mind just for them. I pray for them almost daily in that I pray they get to meet with God tonight.

If this were true and it was my hero son, I'd go find a gun and start shooting these vermin.
Then dare some grand jury to indict.

Please, Please, don't judge all Baptist by these people. They call themselves Baptist but they are a cult. They don't speak for all Baptists.

Go take a look at this thread:
Bikers Disrupt Funeral Protest
About 70 members of the leather-clad American Legion Riders from Kansas and Oklahoma revved their motorcycles for about 30 minutes, drowning out anything the church members [from Fred Phelps' Westboro Baptist church] tried to say.

Cregg Hansen, a Vietnam-era veteran who helped lead the counter protest, said Doles' family had wanted to hear the engines' roar.

The riders said they plan to do the same if the group attempts to disrupt other soldiers' funerals within riding distance.

"It ain't right to protest a sacred thing like this," said Ron Scrivner, a rider whose father is a veteran. "He (Doles) died for his country. They ought to show him the respect he deserves."

About 40 law officers were on hand during the protest, which ended peacefully when the church group left. The motorcyclists clutched flags and joined local residents in solemn tribute as the funeral procession passed through town.

No one mentioned the disruption during Doles' service.
