Hopefully, word gets out so that these hicks from Oklahoma and Ohio decide to stick with Manhattan, thereby making Brooklyn Brooklyn again instead of Manhattan East. The Yuppification of Brooklyn has gone too far.

Hi All-

"...The Yuppification of Brooklyn has gone too far..."

Brooklyn still has plenty of good music clubs, restaurants, and interesting things to see and do that has a certain cool grittiness to it. At the same time, I wouldn't view continued criminality on the part of black residents as a "good thing" designed to slow yuppification and exclude folks from other parts of the country.

This does seem like a bizarre social experiment on the part of the uber-liberal parents at the expense of their young kids.

Perhaps the black children could learn acceptable behavior just as we would expect proper behavior on the part of white youngsters if the situation was reversed.

There was a "hick" born in Dixon, Illinois, a tiny town who went on to a very nice career - his name? Ronald Reagan. There was another "hick" born in Denton, a small town north of Dallas who also had a nice career - his name? Dwight David Eisenhower. In fact, there are a lot of us "hicks" who've been born in the so-called red states who have done quite nicely, served in the Military with Honorable Discharges, fought in war zones without complaint and have retired and feel no need to talk down to people in the states in between the western border of NYC and the eastern border of Cali.

This is a lesson you might want to take to heart.
