These were the years of the second exodus from traditional stay-at-home motherhood. This was when this country began to see an irreversible problem with middle and upper-middle class white kids.

That and the fact that their daddies and mommies were guaranteed jobs by the local political machines that paid mucho dinero for gubbmint jobs, and I aint talking about "public administration" either.

The kids I went to school with were a half step up from white trash. Barely. I'm talking more in terms of attitude instead of income/occupation.
