Basically you are saying that the democrats are still in charge. I sadly say that I agree.

I respectfully disagree with the idea that Miers is the only one who could be confirmed. Owens and Brown are confirmable on the basis that they were the Federal Circuit posts. There is nothing that further disqualifies the from the USSC bench.

I suspect it is Brown who would withdraw her name if nominated. Rush noted the other day that she had personally told him that the confirmation process was grueling. The whole Roberts dog and pony show was simply the democrats showing these other potential candidates what they were wlling to do.

Thus Owens would be confirmable.

You are assuming that Brown and Owens would have agreed to undertaking the process again.

Owens asked that her name be withdrawn.

Oh, no they are not confirmable. Pukin' Dog knows everyone they were sleeping with. He has pictures. He works for Larry Flynt.

I think the one of the MAJOR things we keep forgetting: She just had her life turned upside down, got a new job and is settling in.

Just because we want someone to do it, they still have to say yes. Everyone behaves as if everyone is clamoring for a position on the Supreme Court. I just don't think that is the case. They have personal lives to consider.

Maybe Owens did not want to go through this crap again. Who would?

Basically you are saying that the democrats are still in charge. I sadly say that I agree.

Which means that President Bush and Republicans deserve NOT to be in charge.

This is such a whinin' load! I am sick of it. True leaders do just that, they LEAD. They don't lead when they have majorities only - they LEAD to majorities. All this sign of weakness stuff is nonsense - it is not a sign of weak Republican Senators - it is a sign of a weak President - or a President that does not really care about conservative principles.

True leadership and strength are not revealed when things are going right - they are revealed when things are going wrong - and when you appear the most vulnerable.

I can't believe that conservatives (Rush included) don't get that. Sheesh, talk about pansies. LOL.
