There isn't universal disgust among conservatives about the Harriet Miers nomination.
Here, finally, are two conservative stars who get it.
Tony Snow http://www.townhall.com/opinion/columns/tonysnow/2005/10/07/159692.html
Thomas Sowell http://www.townhall.com/opinion/columns/thomassowell/2005/10/07/159683.html

maybe THAT will work
Before the Bushbots get too excited, they might check the archives of both these men. They absolutely do not think Bush is perfect.
The Bushbots and the Anti-Bushbots. Too funny!
Don't dismiss me as a "Bushbot". On spending and the border I think he's an incompetent pin-head. But the grief he and Miers are getting over this may, in fact, be misguided. Read these guys.
I completely agree about Sowell's brilliance. I only regret that I'm am such a late-comer to his teachings. Teach on Dr. Sowell.
Hey GOFP, for a MacArthur fan, you sound a bit cynical. I've always thought the doctrines of grace should make us joyful. What gives?
What a new and exciting way to do a pre-confirmation hearing. Every one watching the "actual" confirmation hearings are probably going to show up with tomatoes to throw at the Sens who ask, weeks-ago-publically-vetted questions. "Get on with it, Stupid!" Might be the rallying cry from.. we, the people...
anit-bushbots = Bush bashbots
If she were 50 yrs old, I would be more excited about her nomination.
Your tag line is brilliant :)
The older I get the more I appreciate the wisdom and life experiences of older people. They just don't tend to get "overexcited" by issues they know are simply a fire in the pan. Furthermore with life expectancy rises and amazing developments in medicines.. I don't at all have a problem with her age.
Let's get ready to rummmmmblllllllle!!!
I'm in full agreement with Sowell. If anyone is to blame for the weakness of this nomination, it's the RINOs in the Senate. In fact, one could well come up with an acronym like MINO, meaning, Majority in Name Only, to describe what's going on in that legislative body. If this were poker, Bush would be holding a pair of sevens, not the royal flush that everyone presumes he has.
Miers has been with him through every step of his presidency, she will be great at issues of national security.
I know nothing of Miers but if Thomas Sowell thinks she's OK then so do I.-
He has dozens (literally) of books . . .Sowell would have (he's 75 now) made a great SCOTUS justice.
Thanks for the post, links. Interesting.
That's right......And MissMarple said just that days ago.
