Interesting find. Peter King was on a local NYC radio show this morning and said the time window starts today.

Today is also the anniversary of that Battle of Lepanto, which drove the Muslims out of Europe and essentially kept them out for 400+ years.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear other East Coast cities getting the same thing. Everyone is on alert.

It sounds like a joke after the OK bombing thread, but its not, and I don't have evidence, so this is just speculation--

But, how certain can we be that they REALLY just found a propane nozzle, and this isn't a cover story?

Did the news show the scene? If someone actually saw this, and saw the propane nozzle that would be proof; if it looked like they were carring the pack out really carefully AFTER this announcement, then that would suggest otherwise.

Anyway, probably is exactly what they said, it's just that there are some indications that we are not being fed the truth all the time in these situations....

I don't have any problem with SEPTA (well, on this issue, talk to me at 6:30 when I've been waiting for the 23 bus for 40 minutes and that might be different).  It sounds like this guy was just trying to cause an incident.  Getting on the train with the huge back pack, not  responding to the conductor, stuff like that.

(If what I just wrote makes you sad or angry,

 it was probably sarcasm)

The question is does the Islamist calendar line up to these Gregorian-calendar anniversaries?

Opportunists taking advantage. I hope they get the book thrown at them.

Good question, I don't know. But I think they would probably accept our dates for their propaganda purposes, since that's what an attack on some significant date would be. On the other hand, maybe I am attributing too much craftiness to them...

It could be that the cell system is not down, but that the cell phone company has switched the system over to emergency mode, which gives the police and other emergency agencies priority use of the system.

Absolutely! And there's a lot to that bumper stick that I see which essentially says that everyone is happy when mama is happy. In my house, it kinda goes like this. If you want life to go pleasantly, humor your mother. Otherwise, she can make things miserable for you. Even when you're legally an adult. I'm reasonable and I listen and I can be persuaded to change my mind, so it does work both ways. But then there are times when life is sooo much easier when she just sighs and does what I ask.

Even after my daughter went off to college I still insisted on certain safety rules when she was home. It caused a huff, but then it's my house, my car, my rules......LOL....I remember those 'huffs'!!!

Suspicous man with a backpack taken into custody.

No self-respecting college student would be going to class on a Friday. This is highly suspicious.

Good point.

Also, why did Toronto authorities spend all this time telling us that the mystery disease in the nursing home this week was not Legionnaires disease, only to change the story to "It's Legionnaires Disease" yesterday.

Something smells, and it's not 'shineola'.

Things that make you go Hmmmm.

He just checked in -- he's at work and all is well.

Asked him about the phone thing, and he said the grid was probablyshut down, as EVERYONE was trying to call out.

(He works for DHS, so...) Asked him for other details, and he said they were "working on it."
