Democrats blast Bush speech on Iraq
AP ^ | October 6 2005

CAPITOL HILL Senate Democrats say the president's latest comments on Iraq were sorely lacking.

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid says the president failed to detail a strategy for the military, political and economic successes needed to bring U-S troops home.

Reid also says the president continues to "falsely assert" that there is a link between the war in Iraq and the September eleventh attacks.

Richard Durbin of Illinois says the president failed to answer the question most Americans are asking: When will there be enough Iraqi battalions ready to fight so U-S troops can begin coming home?

" I would not be at all surprised if the Democrats mounted a military coup on the White House."

That, my Freeper friend, would make this old man die with a smile, a gun in both hands and two in his waistcoat.

Great content in this speech.

Question: Why can't our President make this an Official Talk directly to the American public. Not just to a certain special interest group? Any can his talk be made in the evening -- and would the major news media cover it?

All Americans should be given the right to hear this from our President.

A great speech, given in the morning, on a weekend when most middle-America is working -- is not going to get through.

We who understand and support our President -- want to enlarge our base. We'd like our friends and neighbors to hear from the President why it is so important to finish this WOT.

Any comments?

Lincoln once said something like: I do not control events, they control me. This is always true once one decides to go to war.

Proof positive that Democrats are incompetent to handle a military action. You don't divulge strategy - duh - unless you want the enemy to know your every move and purpose.

"The terrorists regard Iraq as the central front in the war against humanity. And we must recognize Iraq as the central front in our war on terror," he [the Presdient] said.

Wonder why the lefties have a hard time understanding that.

Or are they actually rooting for the enemy?

Bush say sun to be high at noon. Democrats skeptical, say his meteorologist has ties to Big Oil.

Durbin upset because Bush can't predict the future.

Bingo! This is why Rush refers to this bastard as "Dick Turbin." Because Dick Turbin is on the side of the Sheet-Head Turbin Islamicists.

Along with Kerry, Kennedy, Karter and Klinton. Hmmm... Quarple K's.

Just to correct something...
In a courtroom in the Netherlands, the killer of Theo Van Gogh turned to the victim's grieving mother and said, "I do not feel your pain -- because I believe you are an infidel."
The actual quote is
I do not feel your pain. I can't. I don't know what it's like to lose a child that has been brought to the world with so much pain and tears. What I do know is that I acted from conviction, not because I hate him.
