Sam Brownback has been a trusted conservative for years. People who hate immigrants won't vote for him, but people who want to reform immigration will.

Tim Pawlenty has a great track record as governor, pushing through conservative legislation in a state traditionally run by liberals. He got 95% of what he wanted in the budget even when the Rats forced a government shutdown. He's been a very good fiscal and social conservative, with some populist initiatives on peripheral issues. Next best thing to Jeb governor-wise.
