"How is it that he failed to gain entrance?"
He refused to submit to having his backpack searched, and fled. Three times. From what I've read on the other threads, Hinrichs got caught up in tightened entry searches during halftime, because of concerns about students entering the stadium with concealed alcohol.
I guess Boren's crackdown on alcohol has paid of. The ultimate IRONY.
Oh for heaven's sake! I can sure understand them not pursuing someone who doesn't want to have their backpack searched because it is so common for someone to try and sneak in a pint or two. But when they find that this very person ended up blowing up outside of the stadium, you'd think the MSM would be all over this story.
I agree with those who believe that Homeland Security, FBI, etc., put the "hush hush" on everyone. But at some point the story just has to be told in order for citizens to be alert and aware of what has happened.
I think it was more than that.
Given the fact that an LEO saw him trying to purchase amm. nitrate and got his plates, I am sure this kid was under surveillance. They probably had at least a little bit of info on his plans, and increased security accordingly.
PKM said they had bomb sniffing dogs in the stadium before the game.
They don't use them doggies for moonshine.
Is this from the Channel 9 OK News? AP? What?
Hmmmmm....here in Atlanta, they just started searching fans going into the Georgia Dome to watch the Falcons. Wonder if Homeland Security has put a bug in stadium officials' ear, nationwide, about this?
Makes me wonder if he really committed suicide. I wouldn't be surprised if the cell masters didn't have a timer or remote detonator in case the carrier loses their nerve.
Perhaps after being refused admission, he decided to just wait for the crush of bodies, exiting after the game. Then while waiting, the timer caught up with him.
