I'd just as soon see someone without a law background get on the court, so I have to disagree with Ann here about not having a good enough law school education. I think that's the "Esquire" in Ann talking. I guess there really is something to titles of nobility.

I suppose you'd just as soon have your next surgery performed by someone without a medical background too. Good grief! And yes, before eveyone starts screaming that there is no constitutional or other requirement that a justice have a law degree, I already know that. Just because something is permissible doesn't mean it's a good idea.

Miers' lack of an "ivy" law school degree is in her favor, IMHO. So, she missed out on a four-year brainwashing session followed by another three-year brainwashing session? That's a negative?
