I was stunned and disheartened when I first heard the nomination. I'm an Enangelical Christian, and worked as vice-president for a pro-life group. After reading about this lady's personal life and talking to someone who knows her in Dallas....I'm rejoicing.

GOOD on you! I posted the other day that POTUS would not nominate another Catholic, but added that I thought he'd nominate a GOOD Christian woman and he has.

Very interesting. Why the change? I'm sure she's a fine woman but it seems she might swing with the prevailing tide in a given situation. We didn't need, nor want, another O'Conner.

I had the same feelings. Honestly, I've still got some mixed feelings about the nomination, but, like you the more I hear the more comfortable I become. Let's hope this turns into an excellent tactical move by Bush and not another Souter...

I was initially discouraged too, but Jay Sekolow said she's a good pick, and I have confidence in his opinion, he's rarely disappointed me.
