I really hope that isn't correct.

It is evident, to me, that even a person that respectfully expresses disagreement will find no favor with you if it is not an opinion shared by you.

Rush has been critisized for being too soft, and too hard, today.

In reality he's been respectful. He hasn't resembled Coulter's tirade over Roberts at all. If his opinion bothers you, turn it off. But you will convince very little share your opinion of Rush no matter what side they fall on Miers.

Did you read ALL of what I said in popst 321? My FEELINGS right now are based on the information currently known, and what well established Christian conservatives have been saying about her all day long. That is what I am basing my opinion on, not irratioal emotion without a basis in fact.

I even changed to Dem so I could vote in the primary. Course in PA it's usually too late to make a difference.

OMFG!!! Can't you read?

What you linked to is an agenda for topics of discussion by a committee, not something that Miers personally supported.

Try not to act as the tool for fools.

It's notable the difference.

On the live Thread for Roberts people were cheering, our representatives were glowing on the Hill. Specter was muted but not defiant. Liberals caught off balance. Not so in this instance.

Certainly, there were those like Coulter that objected. But acceptance was by far more universal than what we have here.

Thank you. It's really annoying seeing so many professed conservatives fly off the handle and just assume this is a bad thing without proper time being taken to examine it and see how she proves herself out. I think in a few months, Roberts and Miers will have proven themselves to be conservative Justices loyal to the spirit of the Constitution, as all real conservatives are, and there will be a lot of Freepers that will owe Bush an apology for being emotional before rational.

OH Dear...

Fox just had on Eleanor Clift...and she was indicating that it seems more dems are on board with her than conservatives...blech...

Then, little Martha tried to "start something" IMHO...when she asked her what she thought about the "rumor" that Laura might have had some influence on the pick...and that they even had Miers for DINNER LAST NIGHT...to discuss the nomination.

The MEDIA just has to have a scandal, don't they???

BTW, Ed Rogers was the RNC pundit, and he said that IF Laura had input..then that isn't bad, because Laura has a good sense of character with people.

And all it took to know that was one more click and a little reading.

Indeed. This is NOT something that should involve a snap judgement. And so far, all the knee jerkers still haven't put forward the name of one single proven conservative who is out opposing her. All the known conservatives who have spoken about her, are supporting her. I think that says a lot.

Gee, her contributions to Comrade Dukakis would make you think that she wouldnt support something like that, right? /sarcasm

What is respectful about announcing that the President made his choice out of weakness?

This is simply an agenda for discussion- not something she took a stand on. On the OTHER hand- she did work against pro-choice interests within the ABA.

The fact the VP had to go on Rush's show just hours after the announcement to shore up support speaks volumes.

"If conservative from birth becomes the test, we will be a small party indeed."

Yeah really. I mean, I was nine years old in my parents living room desperately hoping Reagan would beat Carter, because even then I knew the differences between Republicans and Democrats. So I'm as close to "Republican from birth" as anyone can be, and have never voted for a democrat, liberal or otherwise, but I sure have no problem voting for someone who used to be one, and has seen the light, and their recent history has proven them to be a real conservative and a Christian. Like Miers has proven to be. I have no patience for RINOs, but I am growing weary of "conservatives" who jump at the chance to slam other proven conservatives because in their opinion, they're not proven enough to be supported. Rationality desperately needs to be considered over hype here.

It's not that unusual that Dick Cheney comes on Rush to defend the president's position. He's done it before.

A heads up that Dick Cheney will be on Sean Hannity's radio show today also.
