I wasn't even old enough to vote in 2000, and I still paid attention.
Well son, I helped elect Ronald Reagan twice - while residing in the State of Texas. G.W. Bush's political friends in Texas were certainly Reaganites.
At least we can agree now - my hopes for a Texas Conservative in G.W. Bush were dashed when it became clear that he is a Country Club Republican.
My guess is the Constitution Party will pick up some support now.

Bush never made any claims to Reaganite status, nor did he ever promise to implement any Reagan-like policies. He's been completely honest in his campaigns: he did what he said in the 2000 campaign, and he's doing what he said in the 2004 campaign.
The Constitution Party? No way. Americans want to win the war on terror, for starters.

Perhaps it may. Conservatives were scolded by Republican party loyalists saying that we had to vote for Bush to get people nominated to the Supreme Court who would hold the line against liberal incursions through the courts.
Well, looks to me as if we have one "maybe" and one "yeah, right" as our nominees. As long as people continue to board the slow train instead of the express at the voting booth nothing is going to improve.
