Lawsuits will be flying fast and furious. DA's office has not yet decided to take this to grand jury. Still investigating I suppose. Sheriff Cleveland should have taken blood and urine samples from ship captain on Sunday!!
The test they are using is an ETG, which would determine if any alcohol was consumed within an 80-hour timeframe. I think it's a pretty loose test. If I was a pilot, it would mean that if I went home and had a couple glasses of wine with my dinner, it would show up. I think Cleveland needs to wait for the results.

I think the pilot has no culpability - latest reports are that a canvas canopy was replaced with a far heavier hardtop and side glass. The deck is also way to high - top of the gunwhales.
I agree. I will post more info as it comes in tomorrow morning.
I also have been reading of accounts where the tour boat itself made a unusually sharp turn.....
I don't buy the wake business for a second....
It was captivating.
Tell us the outcome, please (no secrets of course) but what indictments, if any, came out of it.
The captain and the company were indicted on a totally obscure misdemeanor charge of non compliance with a NYS regulation regarding crew requirements for a boat carrying that many people.
It certainly was captivating testimony.
Survivors, eyewitnesses, ship builders...
Any way there's the link up top for further reading.
