"Unfortunately you have to register."

try bugmenot.com to avoid the registration problem. I was able to read it, but there is no real info there, either, although they do say the blast was felt 4-5 blocks away.

Please add me, too. I have to leave for awhile, and won't have access to news--not that the media is reporting much!

"Have they done a autopsy ?"
It appears that mops, sponges, and popsicle sticks are being bagged for analysis. Extreme trauma has not been ruled out, for sure.

"But now they're saying it was just a 'backpack'...!!"

When the cops detonated it, if they got a secondary explosion, that would show it was, in fact a bomb. Without the secondary explosion, it probably wasn't a bomb.

I live here -- trust me the media was told not to report certain things. A big blast is heard and not reported on our radio stations? None of us had any idea what was going on until the 4th quarter. And since then the amount of news coming out is almost zero, zip, nada.

OXENinFLA posted this excellent story earlier:http://lampherephotography.blogspot.com/2005/10/terrorist-strike-norman-ok-during.html. Did you get a chance to read it? If not, I recommend it highly.

The nice thing about computers is that they can shut down the entire system for the peons, yet allow select numbers to function unimpeded.

Only if they know which numbers are the select ones. Many are known, but many are not. In my industry, personal cell phones are a secondary or tertiary means of communication. At times, they are the only means of communicating with people in the field. I can guarantee you that the personal cell phone numbers of many, many first responders are not in a database of select numbers.

And, it would take time - there's several cell phone providers working on different systems. Verizon shares little with Sprint or Nextel except perhaps a tower structure or two. Plus, it would take more than a call from the local police dispatcher to get it done.

Thank you for asking. My wife got in around midnight and I feel God was watching over her last night.

Suspicious to say the least. Could I also trouble you to include me any any future pings regarding this incident?

Thanks for confirming that - I thought I had read something to that effect on the thread....

One question, you just said you sit on the East Side and (earlier) one row from the wall. The people behind you claimed they felt the wall tremble?? That would be a VERY powerful bomb indeed!!!

Well obviously the act itself is crazy, and I don't give a rat's butt what went through the guy's mind.

I do want to know who he was (I think it's a pretty safe bet that it was a male), because I think that fact alone would indicate which way this story goes.

Someone blowing themselves up at a college game IS news, if not for the simple fact that it just doesn't happen.

I think that obviously the authorities are not going to be releasing a bunch of info, even if they have it, until they have some concrete facts. But usually the reporters are all over the cops and FBI, asking them to draw conclusions.

Sorry, an extra period at the end of the link messed things up. The corrected link is http://lampherephotography.blogspot.com/2005/10/terrorist-strike-norman-ok-during.html

You are speculating. First responder accounts are segregated in the database, as well as some other special circuits. Every single number is "known". Personal accounts are not to be used for primary comms during a response. All providers are connected to the PSTN, so there is much more sharing than you seem to think. Ever hear of "roaming"?
