FDNY chief: We're training for nukes

Terrorists attacking New York City with a crude nuclear weapon or a
dirty bomb are among the main threats the FDNY is preparing for, the
department's top disaster planner said yesterday.
Chief Joseph Pfeifer told a panel of security experts the FDNY is
rapidly transforming itself into a terrorism-ready force that is
equipped to respond to such potentially catastrophic attacks.
"It's the training we do that'll make the difference between who gets
saved and who doesn't get saved," Pfeifer said at the Council on
Foreign Relations on E.68thSt.
