This is the Jihad Unspun statement, to go with the article that was written by Laura Mansfield about the planned or stated plan for a Ramadan attack, by jihadii's.

It almost sounds as tho, they are reminding the terrorists that an attack was planned.

ANONYMOUS: Planning The Great Ramadan Offensive 2005
Oct 22, 2005
By "Ossama1", Firdaws

As far back as May 2005, there were rumblings from intelligence apparatus, media “leaks” and of course
the White House that the "Great Ramadan Offensive 2005" was in the works, a battle to end all battles
between the forces of good and evil. Or, at least that was how it was billed at the time.

In early August, 2005, a post was made to the Arabic Mujahideen forum Firdaws by a person using the
name "Ossama1". Written in perfect English, "Ossama1" details the planning of the battle that was to
restore Muslim honor. But with ten days left until Ramadan ends, has the plan been abandoned or was
there actually a plan to begin with? Here is the original post as published by lauramansfeld.com. You
decide.

We remind our viewers that the opinions and points of view expressed in this article are those of the
author and shall not be deemed to mean that they are necessarily those of Jihad Unspun, the publisher,
editor, writers, contributors or staff.

Planning The Great Ramadan Offensive

“Planning the "Great Ramadan Offensive" by late August 2005, the Islamist-jihadist movement was
increasingly consumed by great anticipation for a dramatic breakout: a "Great Ramadan Offensive" led by
both Osama bin Laden and Abu-Musab al-Zarqawi, in person and from Iraq. This offensive, several
Islamist-jihadist leaders and commanders were convinced, would overshadow the dramatic impact of the
September 11, 2001, spectacular strikes.

Jihad leaders were convinced that the Great Ramadan Offensive would include a "fateful confrontation"
with the US and Israeli forces in the Middle East, as well as a series of unprecedented spectacular strikes
in Western Europe, Russia, and, perhaps, even the United States. Throughout the Muslim world,
widespread anticipation for the Great Ramadan Offensive has been reinforced by a series of virtually
simultaneous communiques starting around August 24, 2005. This was the first time so many significant
doctrinal-theological statements had been issued at the same time, reinforcing the belief in a forthcoming
well-coordinated global onslaught.

First came the report of a new recorded message by Abu-Musab al-Zarqawi. Apparently made on August
21, 2005, the existence of the message was announced around August 24, 2005. The report that
emerged included the key passage from Zarqawi's message about the next phase of the jihad. "What
happened in Andalusia [Spain], London, the Jordanian Al-Aqabah, and other places and what is going to
happen, with the consent of God Almighty, is accomplished by our devoted mujahedin," Zarqawi
explained. "The mujahedin in Iraq have, praise be to God, moved the battle from the ground [in Iraq] to
the land of the cross." Zarqawi stressed that "jihadist units had been founded in all of Western Europe,
to defend the powerless within the nation. "For the crimes the Crusaders have committed against the
Muslims, they will reap in their own homes [countries], God willing."

The entire post would not fit therefore, it is continued at the link.

Chavez Warns if U.S. Invades, Oil Goes Up

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said Thursday that his government
is preparing for a possible U.S. invasion and he warned that such
"aggression" would send gasoline in the United States prices soaring
higher. The U.S. government repeated that it is not planning any such
thing. Chavez, a vocal critic of "imperialism" and the Bush

the current government. "We are sure that it will be very difficult for
the United States to attack Venezuela," Chavez said. He said his
country has eight oil refineries and 14,000 gasoline stations in the
United States.

I have had a note from Calpernia, saying that the message that I found at Jehad Unspun, that said it was from
Laura Mansfield's website, was not Written by Laura.

The message was found on a jihadi website.

Which brings me back to my question of "Why does the post introduction to the message sound as tho they are giving them the what for, for not having created jehad and there is only 11 days left?"

Terrorists attacking New York City with a crude nuclear weapon or a
dirty bomb are among the main threats the FDNY is preparing for, the
department's top disaster planner said yesterday.

Chief Joseph Pfeifer told a panel of security experts the FDNY is
rapidly transforming itself into a terrorism-ready force that is
equipped to respond to such potentially catastrophic attacks.

"It's the training we do that'll make the difference between who gets
saved and who doesn't get saved," Pfeifer said at the Council on
Foreign Relations on E.68thSt.

U.S.: Zarqawi's Connections Grow Globally
AP ^ | October 22 2005 | KATHERINE SHRADER

Posted on 10/22/2005 9:47:24 AM PDT by jmc1969

U.S. intelligence officials say Abu Musab al-Zarqawi has expanded his
terrorism campaign in Iraq to extremists in two dozen terror groups
scattered across almost 40 countries, creating a network that rivals
Osama bin Laden's.

In figures not made public before, counterterrorism officials say that
Zarqawi's network of contacts has grown dramatically since the
U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in 2003 and now includes associates in nearly
40 countries in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe.

Those Muslim extremists are members of at least 24 groups, from
Hezbollah in Lebanon to much smaller organizations in Indonesia.

Al-Zarqawi is now seen as the top general who is putting in place
al-Qaida's long campaign to establish an Islamic society throughout
the Middle East, with Iraq at its heart.

Pakistani jihadis adopting earthquake orphans
Rediff/India Defence/Additional Sources ^

Posted on 10/21/2005 9:22:02 PM PDT by Dyaus Pitar

The Muttehida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA), an alliance of six pro-Taliban
religious parties, has given a countrywide call through mosque
loudspeakers, banners and pamphlets for pure muslims to adopt
children orphaned in the October 8 earthquake.

'We have come to know that the [Pervez] Musharraf regime has
decided to hand over the orphans and unaccompanied children to
Christian missionaries and the Aga Khan Development Network
(AKDN),' said Naimatullah Khan, the former mayor of Karachi.

AKDN, which plays a key role in primary/secondary level education in
Pakistan, has been given the task of revamping the curriculum, and
the jihadis are venomous about it.

They accuse it of promoting secularism and eliminating jihad through
the new curriculum expected to be implemented soon.

AL-QAEDA TERRORISTS INFILTRATE THE

Al-Qaeda’s Inroads into the Caribbean

(continued at link)

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1507322/posts#comment
By Chris Zambelis

Security threats emanating from the Caribbean Basin typically revolve
around its position as a key trans-shipment point for South American
narcotics to the United States and Europe, as well as illegal
immigration, money laundering, and other forms of banking and
document fraud. Indeed, organized criminal networks from as far
away as Western and Eastern Europe, Russia, and Asia, in addition to
U.S. and South American organizations, have a formidable presence in
the region.

In the wake of the September 11 attacks, however, many observers
began to look at the region’s potential as a base of operations for
radical Islamist terrorist organizations such as al-Qaeda to stage
attacks against the U.S. and its interests in the Western Hemisphere.
Upon cursory examination, the region’s geographic proximity to the
U.S., porous borders, widespread poverty and endemic corruption,
energy reserves, not to mention the tens of thousands of Americans
and Europeans who vacation there at any given time of the year,
make it an attractive target.

The potential threat of al-Qaeda using the Caribbean Basin as a base
of operations came to the fore when allegations circulated that Adnan
G. El-Shukrijumah, a known al-Qaeda operative, was reportedly
spotted in Honduras in June 2004. Despite a lack of hard evidence,
U.S. and regional security officials believe that Shukrijumah’s alleged
presence in the region stemmed from an al-Qaeda plot to link up with
Central American gangs such as Mara Salvatrucha (MS) and Mara 18th
Street (M18). U.S. Panamanian officials reported that Shukrijumah
was in Panama as early as April 2001, possibly surveying high-value
targets such as the Panama Canal, after which it is alleged he visited
several neighboring countries [1]. Trinidadian sources go a step
further and tie Shukrijumah to the Darul Uloom, an Islamic institute in
Trinidad, and claim he may have infiltrated Central America via
Trinidad and Tobago with a Trinidadian, Guyanese, or Canadian
passport [2].

This December 2001 report on Terrorist ships, reminds me that I have not found anything on the al Qaeda navy in a long time.......granny
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hunt for 20 terror
ships
The Armada of Terror
War on Terrorism: Observer
special
Martin Bright, Paul Harrisand and
Nick Paton Walsh
Sunday December 23, 2001
The Observer
British and American intelligence
services are hunting the world for at
least 20 ships thought to make up a
terrorist fleet linked to Osama bin
Laden's al-Qaeda group, The Observer
can reveal.
Security and shipping sources said
British, US and European intelligence
services have been desperately searching
for bin Laden's 'phantom fleet' amid
fears the vessels could be carrying
poisons, explosives or weapons.
The ships were identified at least three
months ago as a result of a joint
intelligence operation thought to be led
by the Norwegian security service and
America's CIA with the help of
international shipping registries.
The search has been hampered by the
controversial 'flags of convenience'
system, under which many ships are
registered as Panamanian, Liberian or
Cypriot to avoid stringent checks on their
crews and cargoes.
News of the hunt broke as British
anti-terrorist officers continue to search
the London-bound MV Nisha, seized off
the south coast of England on Friday in a
dramatic raid by Royal Navy units,
including the Special Boat Service
(SBS). The ship, which lay off Sandown
Bay in the Isle of Wight last night, was
flying the flag of St Vincent and the
Grenadines, in the West Indies. The tiny
Caribbean nation has a population of just
111,000, but 1,336 vessels fly its flag.
The boat was initially thought to be the
first of the 20 ships to be boarded. No
explosives or ammunition had been
found by last night. The vessel was
carrying raw sugar to a Tate and Lyle
refinery on the Thames when an
intelligence tip-off warned British
authorities that it could be carrying
'terrorist material'.
Whitehall sources moved to play down
links between the Nisha and the
worldwide search for the other ships,
saying the boarding was a 'belt-and
braces job' at a time of high alert.
The dawn raid on the ship by the SBS
and the Metropolitan Police Special
Branch came after the tip off from a
foreign intelligence service that a ship
like the Nisha, carrying explosives, was
due to dock in London.
Shipping experts have expressed fears
about the vulnerability of targets in the
City of London to attack from the river.
The Nisha would have passed Canary
Wharf, the capital's highest building.
Shipping unions last night said the
system of controls for the international
merchant shipping fleet was ripe for
abuse by terrorists.
'We warned about this right after the 11
September attacks. There is a complete
lack of regulation in the industry.
Perhaps now people will start to listen to
us,' said David Cockcroft, general
secretary of the International Transport
Workers Federation.
Andrew Linington of the British National
Union of Marine Aviation and Shipping
Transport Officers called on the
Government to tighten the UK port
regulations.
On almost every level, the system is
open to abuse,' he said. US ports now
demanded 96 hours notice before any
ship docks and a full list of crew in
advance. Britain should do the same, he
said.
Muslimeen soldiers run EMA off Valencia quarry
An investigation by CAMINI MARAJH
Sunday, August 29th 2004
Energy Minister Eric Williams (left), the man who says that Muslimeen leader Yasin Abu Bakr has a legitimate licence to mine State quarrying
lands, on a walkabout with Prime Minister Patrick Manning and Mark Guerra (middle), slain gangland boss and a key
Jamaat al Muslimeen leader Yasin Abu Bakr-the man identified by Energy Minister Eric Williams
as the principal behind the defunct Dar-ul-Islam-is using an expired lease with a 26-year-old
debt to the State to stake a multi-million-dollar mining claim to State lands in Valencia.
And, he's getting away with it.
Sunday Express investigations have found that the one-year lease from more than 20 years
ago on which Bakr has relied to make his claim-and which Williams insists is a "legitimate
licence" to mine State lands inside of Tattoo Trace in Valencia-is in arrears to the tune of
$30,000.
The outstanding royalties owed to the State date back more than 20 years, according to
sources, and do not include accrued interest.
Williams has refused to discuss the details of Bakr's land mining arrangement with the ruling
PNM Government, save to say that the former coup leader has a "legitimate licence" to mine
State lands in Valencia. That the licence in question has long been expired or was issued to a
religious organisation that is now defunct, appear to be of little interest to the Manning
administration, which, on the evidence assembled so far, seems to have facilitated the
Muslimeen's renegade quarrying operations in the Valencia, Toco area.
Sunday Express investigations found that Muslimeen soldiers have used the Dar ul Islam
agreement as a cover to launch wildcat quarrying operations in lucrative State-owned
reserves since December 2002, extracting State property, namely sand and gravel, and selling
it back to Government-run agencies, including the regional corporations and the
Unemployment Relief Programme (URP) for millions of dollars.
Sources, speaking on condition of strict anonymity, report the Muslimeen's use of strong-arm
tactics in appropriating excavators and tractors from equipment operators for their own use.
Muslimeen soldiers have reportedly used threats, backed by the presence of gun-toting men,
to run off legitimate quarry operators, farmers and even Government officials from what MP for
the area, Roger Boynes, described as "the Wild, Wild West".
Island's
Abduction
Rate is
second in the
world
By Carol Williams
PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad and Tobago, March 13, 2005: For as long
as pastel rum drinks and hedonistic pre-Lenten celebrations have been
in fashion, fun-seekers have flocked to this tropical duet of lush islands
to sunbathe, sway to calypso and savor the exotic flavors of its
multicultural cuisine. But an ugly social ill threatens the perpetual party
atmosphere: kidnapping, a crime so epidemic that Trinidad ranks second
in the world behind Colombia for its rate of abductions.
Victims and police point to a home-grown radical Muslim gang that
sought to topple the government in 1990 and has since built a lucrative
criminal empire. U.S. intelligence operatives are believed to be watching
the militants of Jamaat al Muslimeen for signs that they are linked to
global terrorist networks such as Al Qaeda.
Abductions targeting the prosperous and politically influential have
evoked comparison to the Abu Sayyaf guerrillas, whose kidnappings in
the Philippines and Malaysia have chilled business at island resorts in
those Pacific countries. They have also instilled fear in this country, the
Caribbean's most dynamic economy, that visitors and foreign investors
could begin looking elsewhere.
The relatively small and obscure Jamaat al Muslimeen sparked the
kidnapping wave that flared up about two years ago, but authorities see
an even more troubling copycat phenomenon. Amateur crooks and street
kids are getting into the act, inspired by the ransom paid by relatives
who may fear the police as much as the abductors.
Kidnapping has been on the rise throughout the Caribbean and Latin
America, but it has soared in Trinidad. In 2001, this country of 1.2
million had fewer than 10 kidnappings. In 2002, the number was 29. In
the last couple of years, the figure has been about 150.
Police say most kidnappings are instances of gangland score-settling or
drug dealings gone wrong, an explanation that serves to defuse public
anger and convince honest citizens that they run little risk of becoming
targets.
The victims are primarily Indians, who make up 40% of the population
and tend to be more affluent than blacks, who compose a similar
proportion. They contend that the kidnappings are being fueled by police
corruption, government complicity, racism and an attitude that most
victims had it coming.
Still missing six months after his June 21 abduction, 11-year-old Vijay
Persad has become a symbol for the plight of ordinary Trinis caught up
in the violence. "People say they're after us. The black community
doesn't give us support. They are scared of these people," Ragkumar
Persad, 38, says of his neighbors' indifference to his family tragedy and
Jamaat al Muslimeen.
Saran Kissoondan, whose family paid $167,000 to free him last year,
accuses the police of being in league with organized crime.
"The criminals were getting information from the police. I could hear
their conversations," Kissoondan recalled of the 18 days he spent
handcuffed and blindfolded in a dirt-floor shack, listening to his captors
talking on their cellphones. "The police officer handling my matter was
advising the criminals not to let me go [for a lesser ransom]. The police
were telling them my family could pay more."
Kissoondan, owner of a car dealership and brother of one of the country's
most successful restaurateurs, identified two of his captors, who were
arrested shortly after his release. One of the men, a member of Jamaat
al Muslimeen, agreed to testify against the crime masterminds of the
group and was put under police protection. Before he could testify,
however, the witness' body was found in a lake, shot, wrapped in plastic
and weighted with rocks. All charges were dropped against the rest of
the suspects.
"Since the PNM came to power, kidnapping of Indian people has come
alive," Kissoondan said, referring to the ruling People's National
Movement and Prime Minister Patrick Manning. "There's nothing and
nobody to stop it. The police know who the main kidnappers in Trinidad
are, but they are their associates so they will do nothing."
OFF-TOPIC:
Chuck tells us about "Barney the Bandit..."
As a former 911 operator, my duty was to send rapid response to
any situation that might arise. Whether the response required
Police, Fire, or Rescue assistance, it was my duty to calm the caller
and be sure they were safe until help arrived.
One fairly quiet fall evening, I received a call from a woman who
was terrified. She was screaming hysterically into the phone. Try as
I might, I found it was very difficult to get her to calm down and tell
me what the problem was. She was crying and screaming “He’s
trying to get in!” Try as I might, I was only able to get that
information from her and could not calm her down. Time is always
against us in matters such as these. Seconds are crucial. Under the
belief that she was the victim of a home invasion, I advised two
patrol units in the area. Within thirty seconds, both officers were in
the same block as the residence and responded on foot to the
residence in the hopes of apprehending the suspect. They
approached the residence and began a methodical search of the
surrounding yard. At the same time, the woman on the phone with
me screamed “He’s in! He’s in!” and the phone line went dead. I
radioed the officers who then made a forcible entry to the home
through the front door. The next few minutes were very tense in
our dispatch center. No one spoke and all the radio traffic was
quiet as every officer, paramedic and fireman listened to hear what
was happening next. After a few moments, I called out to my
officers to see if they were ok. There was no response. A couple of
seconds later, their supervisor called that he was on the scene and
approaching the residence. More tense moments went by. Suddenly,
the supervisor called stating they had the suspect in custody and
were coming back to the station. We all wanted to see who this big
terrible person was so when the officers arrived we were rather
surprised to see that instead of a person, they had a box. Inside the
box was a very small frightened hamster. He had chewed through
the floor board of her home in search of food and warmth. Of
course, being the dispatcher who handled the call, the hamster was
remanded to my custody to be rehabilitated from his criminal ways.
We named him Barney and he stayed with us in the dispatch center
for several years. Although many years have passed since then, I’ll
never forget the night that Barney the Bandit Hamster terrorized
our county with his crime spree.
That's just hilarious - thanks Chuck!
