It's interesting that they went back to Bali... seems as if things have come full circle. Our time is either running out, or we are still doing an excellent job keeping the attackers away.

They went back to Bali because it is an international destination and the locals mix easily with the tourists. IOW nobody stands out. It was easy so they went there.

Our time has been running out since 911. Another attack is inevitable. The only question is size and spread. We're seeing the run-up. I just pray to God it's not the nuclear scenario, but I'm very much afraid it will be. That will be the cresendo. In the days and weeks ahead, we will be seeing more and more like the Sooners football game. Heads up, the ball is in motion.

I agree it was an easy target. Indonesia is certainly one of the front lines in the WOT. The fundamentalist element is very strong there, in some ways I am surprised there haven't been more attacks.

Now, it could be JI acting independently... or it's part of al Qaida's coordinated sweep of the world. It would seem to make a difference where the orders came from, even if they are loosely affiliated.

Australia and the U.S. have been warned recently by AQ. If this was their strike against Australia (the original Bali bomb was)... maybe something is upcoming for us. Maybe the bomber at OU was supposed to be part of it, but I wouldn't bet on that. He was an engineer though, lots of engineers in the extremist ranks. If he was trying to take others out with him, he was probably homegrown.

Still, not so spectacular... I would think they want to top 9/11. Nukes would do it, I hope that idea ends up being completely wrong though. I'm with you, I'm not so sure it will be.
