I have the same underlying concerns that you do.
It's quite odd.

I watched the video at the link and one thing stuck out:

At one point the reporter stated that the searchers hadd a hard time pinning down the location of the transmitter as it seemed to be "moving". They supposed that it could have been the signal was bouncing off the mountains.

I wonder if it was indeed....moving?

What would happen if hundreds were set off at once? Are these on the same frequency as the other planes in the sky?
