Another one:

'TERROR' ARREST. Muslim man held at Tobago airport with 'suspicious' powder, literature

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1499279/posts

Suspicious" substances and literature found in the luggage of a Muslim man about to take a flight to London from Tobago have triggered an international terror investigation.

The probe led police officers and their bomb-sniffing dogs to homes in rural Tabaquite and posh Gulf View, San Fernando. Using the power of search warrants, investigators seized a computer and telephone at the Tabaquite house on Friday night.

The 26-year-old man detained by police is a Londoner who came to Trinidad two months ago and was staying with his paternal grandmother, who lives off the Torrib/ Tabaquite Road.

Police said last night that they were acting on "certain information" when he was held by Immigration officers at Crown Point International Airport on Thursday. Police described him as being "a subject of interest" and said he had certain "literature" in his possession.

His arrest comes at a time when local security forces are investigating three bombing incidents in Trinidad and are on alert for a possible fourth bombing. He was in custody last night being interviewed by both local and foreign law enforcement officers, including members of the new Bomb Unit, the Special Anti Crime Unit of Trinidad and Tobago (SAUTT), Special Branch, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

British intelligence officials are also said to be involved because he is a British citizen.

Someone mentioned earlier that we need to hear more about these successes. After 9/11, President Bush said we would hear about some things but there were some things we would never know about - or not hear about for quite a while - due to operational reasons.

Long story short: whenever we were behind at work, we'd give the manager as much as we had as quickly as we could to "feed the lion." It reassured him we were "on it" and gave him something to work on so we could finish without his interruptions of "are you done yet?"

For a different reason, I think the citizens of coalition nations, "the lion," need to be fed.

If more people could see that the WOT is ongoing and could see the successes (and get a hint at what evil we are facing), maybe we would be a bit more vigilant and have a greater respect for the difficulty of fighting an ideology rather than a defined country.

If Homeland Security showed regular successes without compromising ongoing investigations, perhaps there would be less carping in the press (ugh....who am I kidding there?!) and more citizen respect for the people who have an awesome job to do. There might be less snarky commentary by the president's opposition as well (again, who am I kidding?!)

Do you think the Islamicists would become more active or do you think they would tend to slink away if their failed efforts were broadcast? They certainly get "all up in our face" with their al Jazeera broadcasts. Could we not do something similar? It is obviously a tactic that they feel is important.

Live by the public relations sword; die by the public relations sword. The Islamicists have started the process of "legitimizing" themselves with their new and aggressive al Jazeera "reporting."

We need to exceed their campaign for "hearts and minds" and prove to naysayers that the WOT is "for real" and not a political concoction (for the "broadcast-in-a-barn" people who feel the moon landing was a hoax!).

People need to see the enemy before they believe there is an enemy and we have very short attention spans sometimes; hence, the need to be reminded frequently with a campaign that let's the people know who we are dealing with and shows the radical Islamicists that the PC days are over.

Sorry for the long, opinionated post...it is getting cooler outside (51 degrees!) and I'm starting to feel my "Fall Feistiness!"
