The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Home grown Islamists may hit US: FBI chief

WASHINGTON -- The United States could be attacked by "home grown" Islamist terror groups, the FBI's chief has warned.

FBI Director Robert Mueller told the London Financial Times newspaper in an interview published Thursday that the United States could face attacks from "home-grown terrorism" very similar to the July 7 bombings in London that killed 52 people and wounded another 700, Mueller said.

When asked if the United States could face such attacks from "home-grown groups", Mueller answered emphatically: "Absolutely, it could," the Financial Times said.

These weapons of mass destruction virtually ring the country, concealed off the coasts of at least 11 states: six on the East Coast, including New Jersey and Maryland, two on the Gulf Coast, and in California, Hawaii and Alaska. Few, if any, state officials have been informed of their existence.

The chemical agents could pose a hazard for generations. The Army has examined only a few of its 26 dump zones, and none in 30 years.

The Army can't say exactly where all the weapons were dumped from World War II to 1970. Army records are sketchy, missing or were destroyed.

More dump sites probably exist. The Army hasn't reviewed records from the World War I era, when ocean dumping of chemical weapons was common."

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil, Oct 31 (Reuters) - A Rio de Janeiro gangster who claimed the throne of a drug kingpin killed on Saturday was himself slain after only a two-day reign, shanty town residents said on Monday.

Police were looking for corpses of the gangster Orlando Rodrigues, known as Soul, and four henchmen after being tipped off the killings were the result of a power struggle for control of the drugs trade in Rio's biggest slum, Rocinha.

"All the information comes from the residents of the slum. So far no bodies have been found and we cannot confirm the deaths, but search will continue," a police spokesman said.

Slum residents are often the primary source of information about murders in the shanty towns that are not regularly patrolled by police, who say these reports rarely prove wrong.

According to local media, witnesses said intense gunfire broke out in Rocinha before dawn on Monday though it was not clear if that was when he was killed, for sporadic shooting has been heard since Saturday.

Quoting residents, Agencia Estado news agency said Soul was killed on the orders of two of his own men, known as Nem and Joca, who had now assumed control after the "coup d'etat".

Police have occupied Rocinha to search for the corpses.

Police killed Soul's predecessor, Erismar Moreira, known as Bem-Te-Vi, early on Saturday morning after raiding Rocinha to arrest him.

I am innocent and sentenced just because I am muslim, says the axe attacker.

"Even the police and the psycologists have not found evidence that I tried to bring down the plane. Why would I want to kill others and myself? No one knows. I was sentenced because I am a muslim. I was judged due to my religion", says Brahim Boutara, who was sentenced to 15 years in jail for trying to crash a Norwegian airliner.

Boutaraa states what was happened on the plane was destiny.

"It was the will of Allah and destiny"

The airliner was just feets away from crashing into the ground. 19 September, 2004: Boutarra breaks into the cockpit. On his airplane seat he has left a book with quotations from the Quran. In his left hand he is wielding an axe.

Axe to the head.

The pilots are busy getting ready for landing. In the cockpit, Boutaraa swings his axe. First, he hits the captain in the head with the butt end of the axe. Then the sharp ends hits the copilot.

From the cabin, passengers are witnessing what his happening in the cockpit. The axeman has turned off the airplane radio, the main powerswitch and has teared off the headset of the pilots. Then he grabs the controller stick and sends the airplane into a dive.

"Oh my God, we are going to die", screams one of the female passangers.

One second away from death.

Two passengers loosens their seatbelts and runs towards the cockpit. The passengers manage to wrestele the axeman away from the stick. The plane is less than 50 yards aways from crashing, when the pilot manages to straighten the plane up.

"We were basically just on second away from dying", says the captain.

Last summer the courts concluded that the axeman was not insane when he commited his act of terror, and he was sentenced to 15 years in jail for hijacking and attempted murder.

"He clearly wanted to kill himself and take all of us with him. He wanted to become a martyr, says a passenger, who along with the minister of industry managed to wrestle the hijacker away from the cockpit.

The axeman is from Algeria.

TV2 (major Norwegian TV network) managed to track down the axemans family in Algeria who was shocked by the hijacking.

6. april 2002 Brahim Boutaraa travelled to France on a tourist visa from Algeria, and after four weeks applied for political asylum in Belgium. He continued nortwards, applied for asylum in Denmark, before he ended up in Norway. Boutaraa arrived in Norway by bus from Sweden with false papers and identity.

Did his experiences travelling though Europe make him turn to islamic fundametalims?

In an inteview, Boutaraa says that he can see Islam in Europe, but he cannot see muslims. Boutarra wants to live after Sharia.

"This is the ways it is. 100 percent for certain. Not all muslims in Europe are blessed by Allah. Particularly in France, there are many Algerians. They do things that are not human. They act like aggressive animals, have no morals, cannot read or write, have no principles, steal, and live in filth and moral decay.

His sister, Fatima Boutara doesn't belive his brother wanted to become a martyr.

"I do not believe this, because my brother had a dream of making a career in high tech and make money", says Fatima.

The family reacts strongly to what their brother has done in Norway.

"You have caused probles for people in another country. Your mother will never understand hy you have done this, and we will neither. I hope that Alla will give you the power to be polite, behave properly, show good morals in prison, so you can be released early and rejoin your mother and father.

I am noticing that religion is not the real goal, other than as a 'talking' point.......or so my opinion is becoming.

This is too much to deal with, the first article for this search is our Jose Padilla, and the headline says says that San Jose "scoffs" at the thought of WMD hitting them......

But then that is what one expects from that area, I hear them calling the kgo.com radio station, they want to hug a terrorist and free them from jail.

When I went and read the thread here, I started thinking of all the strange smells and people passing out that Liberty has posted and we have also found in the past, didn't get far with that search in news, but this could lead to something.

There is a problem with the report, there is not a date on it, for when the test was run, it could have a month ago....
