Granny, this is an exact quote from the link: "Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has placed the Iranian military in complete control of their nuclear program"

Yesterday President Bush tried yet again to refocus the nation on what is arguably the most important issue facing the world today; radical Islamist terrorism. But while most of the nation is mindlessly obsessing over why Supreme Court nominee Harriet Miers’ parents didn’t get fleeced for a liberal Ivy League education,

an issue that concerns the very survival of this country,

and perhaps the free world took place and it did so with nary an eyebrow being raised.

This week it was reported that recently elected – or should I say selected – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has placed the Iranian military in complete control of their nuclear program.

This move should serve as notice that the official Iranian line, that their pursuit of nuclear technology is only for peaceful purposes, is nothing short of a joke.

Those who choose to continue to believe so are either disingenuous or of the same vacuous intellect as those who are duped into believing that A.N.S.W.E.R. is simply a well-meaning anti-war/anti-racism organization and not a front for the World Workers Party.

The fact that the Iranian military is now the lead organization pursuing weapons of mass destruction for a radical Islamic fundamentalist regime should be chilling enough, but that is only the beginning.

The Iranian government, while holding mock elections where those opposed to Ayatollah Khamanei

are routinely suppressed, oppressed and most likely depressed, not to mention beaten, raped and murdered, is a totalitarian “theocracy” based on radical Islam.

They are a state sponsoring terrorism and have provided aid to terrorists operating inside of Iraq. They have even been implicated directly in the deaths of British soldiers patrolling in the south of Iraq.

Further, Mansoor Ijaz, noted expert on Islamic terrorism, has been opining for months that the Iranian government has given safe passage and harbor to Osama bin Laden and many of the simpletons that make up al Qaeda.

To add a more lethal dose into the mix, the leaders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps are now in control of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council and an overwhelming number of that country’s political posts.

If you recall, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard was created to protect those who instigated and perpetuated the radical Islamic revolution of the 1970s,

the same revolution that saw Iranian militants taking Americans hostages.

More from the same article:

Perhaps the American public will once again be rocked into reality when the pillars of our government lay in ruins from a nuclear terrorist attack, shaken from their self-absorbed slumber as they were on September 11, 2001.

When men, women and children – American men, women and children – are pulled from the rubble of vaporized buildings, their charred skin hanging from their broken and exposed bones, perhaps then the anti-war activists, the “peace moms” and those who so often equate President Bush to Hitler will understand just how close we are to not existing.

Sadly, for all of us, it will be too late to have the vision to understand the threat of our enemies when we are standing amongst the rubble of our great Republic.

It will be too late to recognize the severity of the threat when those who would cut off our heads, rape our women and indenture our children into the totalitarianism of radical Islam have successfully ended the Great Experiment that is the United States of America.

If it takes until then we won’t have a prayer because it will be an executable offense to pray. If you think it can’t happen simply embrace your apathy and see what comes to pass.

If the free world allows Iran to attain nuclear weapons we will deserve the Armageddon that will ensue. The EU has failed and we already know that the UN is impotent and corrupt.

If we don’t awaken the sleeping giant so as to win this War on Terror,

this war against radical and fanatical Islam,

we can be sure that our children’s children will never get to see the nomination of another Supreme Court justice, Ivy Leaguer or not. They will be too busy studying Wahhabism and that ain’t freedom.

"One Dead After Man Drives Car Into Crowd"
Updated: Monday, Oct. 10, 2005 - 1:25 PM

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "ELMWOOD PLACE, Ohio (AP) - Police were searching Monday for a man who allegedly drove his car into a crowd of people on a sidewalk, killing one and injuring five, after getting into a fight about a soccer match.

Rey Serrano, 19, of Elmwood Place, drove his Lincoln Town Car into the crowd Sunday, striking six men and hitting a utility pole before running away, police said.

Authorities in the Cincinnati suburb said Serrano may have run down the men in retaliation for a confrontation about a soccer match between Mexico and Guatemala. Mexico won 5-2 in Saturday night's World Cup qualifying game.

"We were told that there was some type of dispute over the match," said Steve Barnett, a spokesman with the Hamilton County sheriff's office.

Serrano, who also goes by the names of Ilario Vasquez and Angel, was charged with one count of murder and five counts of attempted murder. Barnett said he knew the men in the crowd, but their relationships were unclear."

Al-Qaida raises its head in Gaza

This article from The Jerusalem Post (thanks to Sr. Soph) reports Palestinian support and opposition to an al-Qaeda presence in the Gaza strip. Whatever the mood of the average Gazan and whether or not al-Qaeda is using Hamas as a proxy, there can be no doubt that the volatile situation in the region will only result in more jihad.

Has al-Qaida started operating in the Gaza Strip? A leaflet distributed in Khan Yunis over the weekend by al-Qaida's "Palestine branch" announced that the terrorist group has begun working towards uniting the Muslims under one Islamic state.
"The Muslim nation has been subjected, through various periods, to conspiracies by the infidels," the leaflet said. "[The infidels] have brought down the Islamic Caliphate, dividing the nation into small and weak states. They also managed to dilute the Islamic and character of the nation."

The leaflet said unity was the only way for Muslims to achieve victory over their enemies, adding that the terrorist group's chief goal was to enforce Islamic law in the entire world.

"Our efforts are now focused on establishing a strong and unified Muslim nation where love prevails among all its members," it added.

The utopian ideal is reiterated. Islam will reign supreme; the ummah will control every aspect of society and the infidel will pay the jizya to finance the earthly bliss.

Palestinians reacted with mixed feelings to reports that al-Qaida had begun operating in the Gaza Strip.
"The Palestinian Authority is responsible for this new phenomenon," said a resident of Gaza City named Nizar. "Extremist rhetoric in some areas, especially in mosques, produces such cases. The Palestinian Authority is to blame because it is preventing economic development and prosperity, particularly in the refugee camps, where it is easy to recruit unemployed and frustrated young men."

According to Nizar, some areas in the southern Gaza Strip are already beginning to resemble Afghanistan when it was ruled by the Taliban. "This is very disturbing," he remarked. "You see more and more women covering their faces and in the mosques you hear extremely radical sermons. The people there are behaving as if they were members of a tribe in Afghanistan."

Another Gaza City resident, Fadel, urged al-Qaida to stop tampering with the future of the Palestinians. "They're not welcome here," he said. "Their presence will only destroy our lives."

However, some Palestinians welcomed the news about al-Qaida's presence in Gaza. "This is good news and we welcome al-Qaida in Palestine – from the sea to the river," said a Khan Yunis resident named Ayman.

Last week al-Qaida's new on-line television channel branded PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas a "collaborator with the Jews," accusing him of assisting Israel in its war on Hamas.

The restored Caliphate will have no tolerance for those who have "collaborated" with the Jews.

If only people would wake up to the fact that other countries have bases in Cuba already and Iran is a partner with Cuba in several things, including bio weapons.

Castro only keeps living with the hope that he will live to
help fire nuclear at us.

A suggestion, put your report togather and get it posted
every where you can, send it to the local paper and see if
they will print it. People need to see it in print.

[2] Date: Mon 10 Oct 2005 From: Christian Griot Source: EU press release MEMO/05/362, 10 Oct 2005 [edited]___________________________ ____________________________________________________________ Information on suspicion of avian influenza in Romania and Turkey ----------------------------------------------------------------- Romania In the evening of Fri 7 Oct 2005, the Commission services were informed of a suspicion of avian influenza (AI) in Romania. The suspicion has arisen in a backyard flock with 53 chickens/hens and 47 ducks located in the municipality of Ceamurlia-de-Jos in the Danube Delta region, at a distance of about 100 km from the border with Bulgaria. In this flock, 40 ducks and one chicken have died, while the other poultry (mainly chickens/hens) had no clinical signs of disease. All other poultry in the farm have already been killed and carcasses destroyed. Samples have been taken from 3 ducks and 2 chickens. ---------------------------------------- The ducks' blood samples have resulted positive for antibodies against AI virus, while the 2 chicken samples were negative. These findings alone do not lead to the confirmation of avian influenza virus infection (including highly pathogenic AI virus H5N1, that is, the virus strain circulating in Asia), in particular because the finding of antibodies in ducks cannot be considered as a rare event and could be due to prior infection with low pathogenic AI, while the ducks' deaths could be due to diseases other than AI. -------------------------------------- Samples from the dead ducks are also being tested for the detection of avian influenza virus (virus isolation test on embryonated eggs: highly pathogenic AI should kill the chicken embryos in 3-4 days) at the Romanian laboratory. After 4 days, as of Sun 9 Oct 2005, this test has not given any positive result so far; however, a "2nd passage" in eggs is now being performed. --------------------------------------- In relation to these findings, the Romanian authorities have undertaken strong actions, including the stamping-out of all poultry in the farm in which the ducks died and in several other backyard/family type farms in the surrounding, rigorous controls at the border of the "restricted zone" established around the suspected farm, disinfection, etc. ----------------------------------- Samples from some poultry and dead wild swans have been taken on Saturday [8 Oct 2005] in the village concerned and its surroundings and have been sent to the laboratory in Bucharest for testing. -------------------------------------- During the weekend [8-9 Oct 2005], the Romanian veterinary authorities have remained in close contact with the European Commission's services and asked for technical support and laboratory reagents. ---------------------------------------- A community expert team made of Jorgen Westergaard, former highly experienced Commission official (Deputy Head of Unit in SANCO E2), Ruth Manvell, from the Community Reference Laboratory for AI, Weybridge, UK, and Guus Koch, from the National Reference Laboratory for AI in the Netherlands is arriving in Bucharest today, 10 Oct 2005, bringing all necessary laboratory reagents requested by Romania. ------------------------------------------ It is expected that, by Wed 12 Oct 2005, the ongoing laboratory tests should confirm or exclude with a high degree of certainty the occurrence of AI; further tests indicating whether the virus is highly pathogenic or not and for the final characterization of the virus type would take 2 days more. ------------------------------------------- The European Commission will review the situation once these test results are received and will act immediately in accordance with the results. ______________________________________________________________ Turkey On Sun 9 Oct 2005, the European Commission's services have been informed of an outbreak of AI in an open-air turkey farm with 1800 turkeys, 1700 of which died after the 1st clinical signs were detected on 1 Oct 2005. All remaining birds in the farm have been killed and all carcasses destroyed. Disinfection has been applied. -------------------------------------------- The origin of the outbreak is unknown. The farm is located in the Region of Balikesir, in the north western part of Anatolia. ------------------------------------------ Laboratory tests (HI, ELISA and virus isolation on embryonated eggs) have resulted positive for the avian influenza virus, but the exact strain is not yet known, nor is it known whether the strain is of high or low pathogenic avian influenza. ------------------------------------------ The European Commission's services and the Community Reference Laboratory for Avian Influenza have immediately offered assistance and laboratory support to the Turkish veterinary authorities. The Turkish authorities will probably send appropriate samples to the CRL, Weybridge, probably today, 10 Oct 2005. Final virus characterization will be available within 24/48 hours from arrival of samples in the laboratory. ----------------------------------------- In view of the positive results of the 1st laboratory tests for the isolation of avian influenza virus, the European Commission will today [10 Oct 2005] adopt a decision by emergency procedure to ban all imports of live birds and feathers from Turkey. Imports from Turkey of all other poultry products, with the exception of heat-treated meat, which treatment kills the AI virus, are already banned. ________________________________________________________________ -- ProMED-mail [The EU statement is a timely update of the disease situation in Romania and Turkey. Generally, the facts are in line with the summary included in posting 20051010.2950, based upon the information collected from newswires published since Sat 8 Oct 2005. --------------------------------------- Both Romania and Turkey have applied severe control measures in relation to the animal health situation; the Romanians, however, have reportedly decided to vaccinate thousands of people within the affected region. This is an exceptional precautionary step which needs explanation. If the news is correct, the background might be sought in their decision to follow the Dutch experience during the H7N7 outbreak there in 2003. The Dutch vaccinated with the then current (human) influenza vaccine (and applied prophylactic treatment with neuraminidase inhibitors to) all people exposed to infected poultry; they did not vaccinate poultry. Their reasoning was the wish to prevent possible mixed infections of humans by human and avian influenza viruses, which might lead to virus reassortment; see 20030501.1092. ------------------------------------------- A better view of the current situation and conclusions that will help further decisions, will, hopefully, become available after the visit of the EU mission to Romania and upon the completion of the OIE expert's mission to assess the avian influenza situation of wildlife in Russia, expected shortly (see 20051005.2906). Thus far, the role of migratory birds in the spread of H5N1 is a matter of debate. - Mod.AS]

CHRISTIAN FREEDOM INTERNATIONAL URGES ACTION FROM INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY AS BIBLE SCHOOL FORCED TO MOVE, RECEIVES NEW THREATS IN BANGLADESH

By Michael Ireland
Chief Correspondent, ASSIST News Service

DHAKA, BANGLADESH (ANS) -- Persecution of Muslim converts to Christianity in Bangladesh is increasing, says Christian Freedom International, an interdenominational human rights organization working for religious liberty which provides a safe house for those seeking refuge from persecution.

According to Christian Freedom International (CFI) the current situation for minority religions in Bangladesh is extremely tense. The organization urges Bangladesh to protect the rights of religious minorities in Bangladesh. (Pictured: CFI logo).

CFI also urges the U.S. government and the U.N. to use their incredible influence on Bangladesh to stop the growing persecution of religious minorities, especially Christians.

CFI president Jim Jacobson says: "The persecution of Christians, especially those who convert to Christianity in Bangladesh, is getting worse. The growing persecution of Christians in Bangladesh is alarming and should be a matter of major concern for every freedom loving person."

This past July, Grace Presbyterian Bible College was forced by Islamic terrorists to move out of Khulna, Bangladesh. The small school of 33 students is currently headquartered in South Sayabithi, about 15 miles north of Dhaka. (Pictured: Map of Bangladesh).

Peter Khaleque, the school’s principal told Christian Freedom International, "We had to move our Bible school out of Khulna because it was so dangerous. The fanatics beat our Bible school students they tried to kill them. There are so many fanatics in Khulna now."

"The fanatic groups attacked our school three times, two times this year, one time last year," said Kaleque. "We have 33 students at the Bible school. They tried to kidnap the girls and kill the men."

But in their new location outside Dhaka, the nation's capital, the school has received new threats.

"Here outside South Sayabithi we are now facing problems," Kaleque told Christian Freedom International. "We have to be quiet. The Muslim society in the area says if we sing too loudly they will cut off our hand. If we pray too loud they will cut off our hand. Neighboring Muslims from the local Mosque made this threat."

However, in spite of the persecution, the school is moving ahead.

"We are afraid, but we work for the Lord, even if we are scared, " said Kaleque. "We have our classes even though they threaten us."

SAFE-HOUSE PROVIDED FOR PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS IN BANGLADESH

Christian Freedom International operates a safe house at an undisclosed location outside Dhaka to provide refuge and care for Muslim converts to Christianity.

"I hope Christians in America will pray for us to remember us. We don’t want to be forgotten," says Abdul Gafur, 22, who converted to Christianity two years ago. He now lives in a CFI safe house at an undisclosed location outside Dhaka, studying to become a pastor.

"I have to hide from my relatives," Abdul told CFI. "They are so unhappy that I have converted."

"They tried to beat me. My uncle is a powerful leader in Muslim society. They forbid me to go to my village saying they will kill me if I come back," said Abdul.

Abdul's conversion has come with a price.

"By becoming a Christian I have lost my inheritance. I have lost my home. I cannot go back to my village. I have lost my family. I have lost everything. The only thing I get is from Christian Freedom International. I now get a place to live, food, and shelter," he said.

Abdul continued: "I am training myself to serve the Lord's Kingdom. To spread the Lord’s Kingdom here in Bangladesh. I want to help my relatives. I want them to know the Lord Jesus Christ."

"I don't hate my family, even though they hate me," said Abdul. "I feel sorry for them because they don't know what they do."

Abdul told CFI: "I want Christians in America to know that we as a converted have lost everything -- our homes, our families, everything. I hope Christians in America will pray for us to remember us. We don't want to be forgotten."

BANGLADESH: COUNTRY FACTS

Capital: Dhaka

Religions: Muslim 83 percent, Hindu 16 percent, other 1 percent

Population: 141,340,476

Background material on Bangladesh posted to the CFI website states that Bangladesh fails to prevent harassment, persecution, or other harmful acts against minority Christians. Bangladesh does not respond to violations of religious freedom against Christians by nongovernmental entities or local officials.

During a fact-finding trip to the country Christian Freedom International interviewed dozens of Muslims, Christians, and Hindus; visited house churches and a Christian school that was burned by angry militants this past May 2003.

"In this moment, we feel insecure. The country is going fundamentalist, 100 percent fundamentalist," said a Bangladeshi attorney who asked not to be named.

"If you disclose my name, I will be killed," he said.

A Muslim engineer at a Dhaka textile factory said, "The fundamentalists are angry at America. In the factory I work, American experts do not come any more since the war, only Japanese. The Americans are not welcome and it is not safe for him."

CFI says Muslim converts to Christianity are facing the brunt of persecution.

"If a Muslim converts to Christian, now he cannot live in this country. It is not safe. The fundamentalism is increasing more and more," said a Muslim convert to Christianity who asked not to be identified.

Another convert said, "None of us are safe now. We are all facing a tough time. We are really afraid to go out and preach the Gospel. It is really dangerous of us converts to live in Bangladesh. But we are working for the Lord. If we die we will be with the Lord."

CFI also says that extremist groups such as Jamaat-e-Islami are gaining more political clout, especially in the more economically depressed areas of the country.
Christian Freedom International (CFI) is an interdenominational human rights organization for religious liberty. Jacobson is a former White House policy analyst. For more information or interviews, contact Christian Freedom International at 540-636-8907 or visit online at www.christianfreedom.org.
