One of those things that make you go hmmmm...

I just posted this on my site:

Briscoe Field, a small airport located in Gwinnett County, in suburban Atlanta has once again made headlines.

The small airport first sprang into international headlines when it was learned that two of the 9/11 hijackers, Mohamed Atta and Marwan al-Shehhi, trained for their terrorist mission at the facility.

This time, the problem is a stolen 1995 Cessna Citation 650 charter jet that mysteriously appeared on the Briscoe tarmac over the weekend.

The plane, valued at between $7 million and $10 million, was last seen in St. Augustine, FL, on Saturday morning.

The pilots reportedly dropped off their passengers, and left the plane parked on the tarmac in St. Augustine. They noticed it was missing this morning (Monday).

According to officials at Briscoe Field, the plane apparently landed between 9 pm Saturday and 6:30 am on Sunday. (The tower at Briscoe Field is closed between 9 pm and 6:30 am.)

The Cessna was found Monday afternoon parked at Briscoe Field.

No one seems to know how the plane got back to Briscoe Field, or why it was flown back. Lance Rodgers, a flight instructor at Briscoe Field, is puzzled as well. “That's no small plane. That right there would have me a little puzzled because whoever took it has to be a very experienced pilot."

The incident remains under investigation.

Earlier this year, an international terror alert was raised for Nigerian-born Chris Hajaig, 35, who took flight lessons at Gwinnett County Airport-Briscoe Field in 2002. A terrorism alert was issued after he allegedly tried to have his pilot rating upgraded to fly commercial aircraft despite not being qualified. Hajaig was later indicted by a federal grand jury on three counts of being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm. He was located and arrested in the UK.

"Terrorist Claims World Leaders Ignored His Warnings"
By Sherrie Gossett
CNSNews.com Staff Writer
October 10, 2005

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "(CNSNews.com) - An imprisoned al Qaeda leader claims his repeated warnings to international authorities regarding the terror network's planned operations, including bombings in Spain, Britain and Italy, have gone unheeded.

Ali Ahmed Ali Hamad, who is currently serving a 12-year prison term in Zenica prison in Bosnia-Herzegovina for terrorism and robbery, states that for more than three years - from November 2001 to January 2005 -- he repeatedly offered in letters and "official interviews" to provide information on al Qaeda's operations in Bosnia and elsewhere."

Sounds more like a drop off.

In other words, there was something in the plane that was being dropped off. The person that 'took' the plane only took it to make the pick up. Plane being stolen is the cover story for the exchange.

This happened to a tractor trailer here in NJ on Route 1.

I know. Still thought it was worth mentioning with the other incidents in Atlanta.

But it ranks up there with the fire ants post from the jihadi board.

Just wierd.

It is obvious that they wanted to deliver something or something to Georgia or a place elsewhere.

But then when you have 2 seperate bomb sites today, it does make you think. F.R. links to bomb threads in TM posts
#2168 and 2197.

Someone knew enough about the area to fly to a field and not be caught.

Do you recall a long list of numbers that we played with about 18 months ago, it was where I got the code 440 that I used and it always gave Atlanta? (from my foggy memory, should double checked it.)

It was 404 that I used, it is for Georgia phone code, I also used 444. Simply add it to a word that does not pull anything that is interesting and sometimes it will pull something worth looking at.

I also use 1426 for the year, when does it change again?

Thank you for posting this report.

LOL, this one did not show Georgia, but does have several links that you might find interesting.

"Anti-Soccer Fatwas Led Saudi Soccer Players to Join the Jihad in Iraq"
By Y. Admon*.
Introduction

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The Saudi daily Al-Watan reported recently that Islamic extremists were inciting Saudi soccer players to quit their teams and wage jihad in Iraq. According to these reports, the young athletes were influenced by fatwas forbidding the game of soccer except when played under certain conditions and with the express intention of using the game as physical training for jihad. Saudi sheikhs and intellectuals have criticized the fatwas and the religious authorities that issued them.

On August 22, 2005, Al-Watan reported that the soccer players involved in this affair were from the Al-Taif region, and that some of them belonged to the region's well-known Al-Rashid team." [1] In another article, Al-Rashid captain Ja'far 'Attas said that three of his players had left the team. [2] A few days later, team members confirmed that the three had become devout and, under the influence of various fatwas, had begun to believe that soccer was forbidden by religious law. [3]

One of the three, Majid Al-Sawat, was arrested while planning to carry out a suicide bombing in Iraq. He appeared on Al-Iraqiya TV four months ago, claiming that he had fallen victim to one of the disreputable groups which take those who come to Iraq and hold them against their will in order to make them commit acts of terrorism. A bit more info. on young boys body found in IL:

Detectives seek expert's help to identify dead child

Associated Press NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Detectives investigating the death of a boy whose remains were found over the weekend in suburban Chicago have called in a facial reconstruction expert to help identify the body, police said Monday.

The remains of the child, who was around 3 years old, were discovered on unincorporated land between Naperville and Warrenville on Saturday....

Detectives have called in a forensic artist who specializes in facial reconstruction to assist in the identification, and authorities expect to have a drawing to work with in about a week, according to the statement.

The boy had short, black hair, weighed around 30 pounds and was wearing a navy blue collarless shirt and navy blue pants, according to the sheriff's department.

An autopsy was performed Sunday, but the DuPage County coroner's office on Monday declined to provide any details, referring inquires to the sheriff's office.

----------

“Any murder gets to you, but especially the murder of a child. The inhumane dumping of a child like that is something that is beyond what we think about as human beings. It’s a horrible tragedy, and we hope we can get to the bottom of it,” said DuPage County State’s Attorney Joe Birkett.

An autopsy was performed Sunday, but the DuPage County coroner's office on Monday declined to provide any details, referring inquires to the sheriff's office.

“We’re still trying to find out the identity of the little boy who was dumped in a bag by the side of the road,” Birkett said.

TULAREMIA, AIR SENSOR DETECTION - USA (DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA) (04) ***************************************************************** A ProMED-mail post ProMED-mail is a program of the International Society for Infectious Diseases _____________________________________________________________ Sponsored in part by Elsevier, publisher of Journal of Hospital Infection _____________________________________________________________ Date: Sat 8 Oct 2005 From: Robert Miceli _____________________________________________________________ One might also begin to look at the resident squirrel population in the DC mall area to see whether they are indeed serving as reservoirs for _F. tularensis_. There certainly is a large population of them, as any visitor can attest, and this would be consistent with theories expressed concerning tularemia bacillus presence in the environment -- that is, through carcasses decaying in the soil, airborne dissemination of contaminated dust/dirt, and possible presence short term in local water pools. --------------------------------------------------------------- We have seen similar sampling and detection systems based on sensitive PCR techniques show up positive in the past out here in Utah, prior to the 2002 Olympic Games. These were generally explained away, given the endemic nature of _F. tularensis_ in the local rabbit population, the time of year, and environmental climate changes (fall season is cooler, cloudier with more humidity), etc. -------------------------------------------------------------- For DC, however, we need to test the idea of indigenous host reservoirs to address the question of source rather than to just say that it is not associated with any terrorist activity. The National Park Service can start by rounding up some squirrels for testing. --------------------------------------------------------------- -- Robert Miceli, PhD Senior Principal Scientist, Homeland Security Division Defense Systems and Technology Operations SPARTA Inc. Salt Lake City, UT _______________________________________________________________ [ProMED-mail thanks Dr Miceli for his comments and his information regarding positive sensor readings prior to the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City. - Mod.LL]
