Outspoken Israeli Imam Raises Fears of Jerusalem Jihad
Uzi Mahnaime (Sunday Times-UK):
An Israeli-Arab religious leader who preaches holy war is attracting support from hundreds of people, fueling fears among Israel's security services that al-Qaeda is poised to establish a foothold in the country.
Sheikh Nazem Abu Salim, 40, an Israeli citizen and imam at the most prominent mosque in Nazareth - Shihab al-Din - has called for jihad in an Islamic magazine he publishes.
"The jihad should take place in Jerusalem," Nazem, a biochemistry graduate of Beersheba University, wrote in the magazine Ansar Allah.
Nazem also distributes one of the most important books of the global jihad, Al-Taifa al-Mansura. Written in 1993, it directs Islamic fundamentalists to take over all Islamic communities.

Ten members of two hindu families were killed by a group of militants in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir early today, police said.
The militants first entered the residence of one Munshi Ram in Kandi village of Budhal tehsil, had food and then killed the inmates, including a woman, by slitting their throats, they said. Two of the dead have been identified as Munshi Ram and his son Kala Chand, they said.
After escaping from the scene, the militants went to Mohra Gabbar village in the same tehsil, barged into the house of one Kartar Singh and killed five persons and injured another.
Police and security forces have rushed to the two villages. They are likely to launch an operation to track down the militants responsible for the ghastly incident.

The suicide bomber died while in a coma. huh? . . . "That was the third explosion in nearly one and the same area of Dushanbe in 2005." huh?
man, I need some coffee . . .
EEk, thanks MamaD.
Didn't realize they went to so many countries. I would assume they could get to Mexico from any of those countries fairly easy. London, Vienna, Paris, Rome....hey there's even a flight to Baghdad. Wonder what the security is on that flight?
Thank you both for your well wishes. Sorry I'm just now catching up; I'm back at work already, and since I don't really have my strength back yet from the parathyroid surgery, I haven't been online as much -- I come home from night shift and crash.
When I wake up this afternoon, I have a few interesting tidbits to share with TM regarding some "happenings" at work (that federal agency whose eagle logo is most often confused with a snail...)
Good Morning folks. Quiet around here today. Hope it stays that way.
