Thanks so very much, AD.
October 06, 2005
Thanks, Jamie
Did you catch it?
An early version of this story stated that:
According to sources in intelligence, emergency services and police headquarters, when three Iraqi insurgents were arrested several days ago during a raid by a joint FBI-CIA team, one of those caught disclosed the threat.
A newer version of the exact same article states:
According to sources in intelligence, emergency services and police headquarters, the intelligence community developed information that the threat may have involved pharmacists from Iraq coming to New York for some kind of chemical attack targeting the subways.
Three insurgents, one or more of whom are pharmacists, were arrested during a raid by a U.S. military and intelligence community team, sources said, and one of those caught disclosed the threat. Because it slipped out during the arrest, the plot was deemed credible.
A joint task force of the FBI and CIA caught the terrorists. Working together.
It makes you wonder what these joint agency teams might have prevented if it wasn't for Jamie Gorelick's "wall of separation," which prevented these agencies from working together to thwart terrorist attacks in the past.

BART Increases Patrols After NYC Terror Threat
OAKLAND -- In response to news of a specific threat of terrorism targeting the New York City subway system, a Bay Area Rapid Transit spokesman said Thursday that BART is being put on heightened alert.
While he is not aware of any threats made against the BART system or any Bay Area cities, spokesman Linton Johnson said BART is not taking any chances and is now under what he called an "enhanced orange alert."
BART has been on orange alert since the London terror attacks in July, even though the United States is currently on yellow alert, Johnson said. Now, the orange alert is intensifying.
Johnson said BART already has police officers patrolling trains and stations, along with bomb-sniffing dogs and staff dressed in yellow vests. Now, all anti-terrorism patrols will be out in greater numbers, he said.
In the event of a terrorist attack anywhere in the country, Johnson said, BART riders should look to the media for information on service, which will most likely be shut down.
"The reason why we would shut down BART is because we don't want to be the secondary attack," Johnson said.
"Al-Qaida has proven over and over again that they like to strike in fours," he said.
Johnson said BART has no immediate plans to begin searching some riders' bags, as authorities have done in New York City, but he encouraged riders to report suspicious persons or packages to the nearest BART employee.

Yep, I remember a pharmacist story.
Let me see if I can find it.
Oops, not a pharmacist...a different p word.
Maybe he reads the TM. ;-)
He last spoke to the BBC on Thursday, telling Rahimullah Yusufzai in
Peshawar that a blast that killed
12 people near an army base in Kabul last week was caused by a
Taleban bomber. Mr Sherpao told
private Pakistani TV station, Geo, that Mr Hakimi's capture is a "big
success" for the law enforcement
agencies.
A spokesman for President Karzai said he hoped the arrest would lead
to other Taleban leaders being
detained.
"We are grateful for the arrest of Hakimi by the Pakistani government.
He was a person who claimed
the lives of many innocent people like clerics, doctors, teachers," the
spokesman, Khaliq Ahmed
Khaliq, told the BBC.<<<<<<<
This is a big shot that was arrested, is he the one who talked about the NY subways?
T.M. post 1022
"different p word"
LOL, OK, I won't ask.
That's what I thought too!
Have to turn in.
Goodnight all, stay safe.
God Bless.
Thanks for the plane info, did it burn hot enough to kill the virus samples?
Or had they been removed before shipping and a bomb put in the box?
I do not know which direction the bus that had the fire was heading.
Is it odd, first the news of the subway threat, then a bus
fire, sounds like London.
They wouldn't need 19 - one would do if that was the case.
Thanks for not asking.
Smiling...
Good night Velveeta.
Sleep well.
