That is New Orleans, nothing new here, they have a lot of dedicated policemen but they also have some thieves as well.

I'm waiting for Democrats to call for the impeachment of the governor. I too would love to finally see some Democrats outraged at the goings on down there. Not gonna happen because you can't criticize a "minority". But I would settle for some everyday citizens of NO and LA who seem to care about the scandalous and wasteful behavior of their officials, from (elected) Blanco and Nagin to (appointed and assigned) Police Chief and his officers.
And another outrage to me is that the Dems blatantly overlook Kofi and his UN cronies gross abuse of the OFF money. Yet they crucify any conservative for something so minor it is rediculous - Delay and Brown come to mind.

The dems are oblivious. At a time when they should rightly be apologizing and soul searching, they are attacking their usual target with wild racial lies.
I will never, never again listen to a single word spoken by a dem a**hole.

"...both the New Orleans Police Department and another sort of city official whom I can't identify right now." At least we know it couldn't be Nagin - he's partial to Greyhounds

Haven't these brave men suffered enough? Exactly, and just how were they supposed to get to Las Vegas, certainly you wouldn't want them to drive some compact car. Where's the compassion?!

Couldn't find the Mercedes dealership??Just going for the classics. Historically, Cadillacs were more fly. (Apologies to Snoop and Lee Iacocca).

I dont mean to sound dumb, but how did the police cars get underwater? Werent these cars being used to patrol the streets, were the cops so lame they didnt see the water rising and they got stalled? or were they just abandoned?

What is the only difference between a looter and a NO cop? One wears a uniform.

Maybe they took the Caddy advertising slogan "break free" too literally.

They can steal Caddies, but they can't drive BUSSES??????
To: abb
A handful of Sewell Corvettes were also gone, and as recently as last week an NOPD officer at Harrah's was seen driving a black Corvette with a dealer's sticker in the windshield. And nothing can be done????
Another point in the article that was interesting:
Nevertheless, Stead stressed that neither he nor any other Sewell employee requested a formal investigation from any law enforcement agency.
"The attorney general's office contacted us, we did not contact them," he said. "Please make that clear because I have to live here, you know."
Sounds to me like the local "Mafia" is made up somewhat of the local law enforcement... And who doesn't believe that the "honorable" (hack, cough, puke) Mayor Nagin is part of the problem?
