Before the last election one of the gay groups threatened to out any gays in Congress if they pushed the no gay marriage agenda. Driers name was floated along with Mikulskis and I think several others.

"And I still ask. Is he gay? Yes or no? Does anyone know?"

I have no idea. Flynt thinks he is. Gay organizations think he votes against their causes, which he does. So, since I have no knowledge of the man at all, I can't say.

It's probably not an issue in the long term for him.

The rumors are pretty well confirmed.

Dreier is a Stand In. someone with NO potential for long-term leadership who has a LOT of experience in helping DeLay keep a clamp-down on the House.

His role is to keep everything under control until Tom comes back. This might be impossible if Conservatives really want to make a play from the fiscal side but as Head of the Rules Committee, Dreier is an expert on inflicting pain on his enemies.

In a PRECARIOUS situation, Dreier is a good short-term solution, but his long-term prospects are ZERO. His middle-term prospects are entirely dependent on the "loyalty" of Fiscal Conservatives.

An almost-openly gay Republican Majority Leader.
How historic.

You know what?
Give me a homosexual with a Conservative spine, and I'll donate to him campaign.
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
And I already know nobody in Congress can do it.

Border control is the agreed-upon gay marriage for 2008.
By both parties.

It should have been Mike Pence or Sensenbrenner.

If Drier even whispers "We should let the foreign-born run for President", I'll be the first one calling the Justice Department.

He is a piece of mush who likes the limelight. So he will pose and parade for the liberal media. He was probably selected because of seniority.

Well then, Dreier is a strike out on both fronts as he is NOT a fiscal conservative. Sin is not the issue here, leadership is and David's not a leader, period.

Comparing mass murder of millions of Jews to political grandstanding of wealthy powerfyl elites if beyond the pale.

It's not anybody yet. The GOP House membership does not have to confirm Drier.

Furthermore, maybe Dreier is DeLay's choice.

I didn't know Mikulski was in the closet.
Is her mother still alive or something?
Please.

The gay rumor will quickly become an issue and we better be prepared to deal with it. The people are www.blogactive.com have been on his case a long time and they will press it. Personally I like him and I don't give a big darn if he is gay. He seems to have been a pretty good congressman. But its a reality we will have to face. I know the MSN is waiting for a chance to go into his private life and I am surprised they havent found a way already but they will.

The Governor of Texas gets to pick DeLay's replacement if it comes to that.
