The rumors are pretty well confirmed.

Dreier is a Stand In. someone with NO potential for long-term leadership who has a LOT of experience in helping DeLay keep a clamp-down on the House.

His role is to keep everything under control until Tom comes back. This might be impossible if Conservatives really want to make a play from the fiscal side but as Head of the Rules Committee, Dreier is an expert on inflicting pain on his enemies.

In a PRECARIOUS situation, Dreier is a good short-term solution, but his long-term prospects are ZERO. His middle-term prospects are entirely dependent on the "loyalty" of Fiscal Conservatives.

An almost-openly gay Republican Majority Leader.
How historic.

Ever since the gays were purged from the party, spending has increased by our side to the point of no return.
I don't think it's an accident.

"His middle-term prospects"

Now if he changed his first name to Pierre, he might just get lucky!
