House Majority Leader Tom DeLay indicted on one count of criminal conspiracy by Texas grand jury, according to Travis County clerk's office.
The democrats have been on a mission to destroy as many republications, finding and blaming President Bush for everything under the sun, and I am afraid that they are succeeding in destroying the GOP for the 2006 and 2008 elections. I think we have given them to much rope to hang ourselves. Even if Delay is cleared the damage has been done, and that is all they are trying to accomplish.
2) Who will eventually takeover from Frist and Delay?
Any ideas?
You want who I want to take over or who I think will take over?
What?! Remind me what for! Is this about traveling?
Hmmm, I'm curious--when *all* those people
in NO and LA were indicted, did all the cable
news channels break in with news alerts?
BREAKING NOW: David Dryer will take over for Delay
He has to. House rules.
Yeow! Guess the RATS haven't forgiven DeLay in their perceptions of whatever role, if any, over redistricting that occurred in 2000/2001.
"Is this the same prosecutor that's been after Delay for years?"
Yes, Ronnie Earle Is SCUM, in my opinion. (He's been in office WAY too long too. Maybe this will be the stupid move that finally means an end to his reign of terror against republicans. Vote Ronnie Earle out !!!)
And he could get a Travis County grand jury to indict a ham sandwich ... as long as it was a republican ham sandwich.
Getting a conviction here, though, will be a lot harder. Lots of us covert Repubs here. HA-HA
It's time Republicans started to fight back. MANY Libs have done much worse, and are the first to throw the first stone...
Given that reputation, let's see how long before the blogosphere hounds Earle into dropping the charge.
Done to deflect attention away from devloping
Katrina-Cop-Nagin-Bunco-gate.
Generally people are not indicted at this level, unless they believe they have something concrete.
Is the timing on this indictment supposed to divert our attention away from the scandals occurring in N.O.? Or is this just happenstance?
Ronnie Earl. The same guy who prosecuted Kay Bailey Hutchison, then dropped the case.
If this indictment is BS, then Earle ought to be disbarred.
The 1993 indictment of Kay Bailey Hutchison was not thrown out. The prosecutors declined to press the case to trial when they received unfavorable rulings in the preliminary hearings. In other words, they knew they wouldn't win.
The only pisser is that there are not 635 more of these indictments to send a clear message to every elected official to return the government to the people.
This isn't a pisser. I am glad to see any indictments of any politicians. The problem is that there are far, far, far too few.
They are terrified that the feds will start issuing indictments for corruption in New orleans. This is a message that they will not go quietly
Really? Earle's phony indictment of Kay Hutchison didn't hurt the Republicans the next year, when the took both houses of Congress.
