The chemical tinge smells metallic, if you know what I mean. I can't really place it. Sorry - it's very faint. The smell of rotting organics (plant and animal matter) is much stronger, and you can smell the sea - but I don't smell "fish" or "rotting fish".

Fishy would be amines, metallic.... I'm thinking it is (and this is a stretch) turned up water from New Orleans. The winds are coming out of that direction.
