Cameron Parish is the one that is very low lying and has had major loss of life from I believe Hurricane Audra in the early 1960s, but not really sure of the name.

Land is about 1-5 feet above sea level for all of the Southern part of the Parish.

But most of it is uninhabited marshland as I remember it.

The parish north of there (which I cannot spell much better) is where the towns of Lake Charles, Sulphur, Vinton, and Westlake are.

Vinton has a racetrack for the Texans. Sulphur is a little further East, and then you have Westlake and then Lake Charles.

We might be hearing more of those names, as well as the name of Orange, Texas in the news, as well as Port Arthur...
