Dangerous Hurricane Rita is expected to make landfall in the northeast Gulf of Mexico within 24 hours. Tornados have spawned in Louisiana. Water is filling the Ninth Ward of New Orleans again. A bus carrying elderly evacuees was gutted by fire this morning outside Dallas, with multiple fatalities. Television crews have positioned their hurricane reporters throughout the region to attain maximum drama effects. Whoooooa.

Where was the epicenter ?
I'd say make it 0100; the locals in Lake Charles are saying landfall at midnight (I just don't see it that soon).
Thank you! :-)
Thank you for the new state, but I will stay in Texas.
Well here is something to rejoice about. Greta is impressed with the evacuation in Texas. Now she had to qualify it, mind you, IT WASN'T PERFECT, but she was impressed.
I see one in Mexico a little south of Mexico city.
Will it be too deep if it goes over their heads and washes them away?
Wouldn't THAT be something to see. A final sign-off worthy of Geraldo. Even he would approve of it as a properly dramatic way to go.
Not that I'm wishing that on him. I don't exactly dislike him either. I think he's pretty well sincere. He's a Puerto-Rican Jew. You expect he's not going to be emotional?
!?
I've got branches coming down.
We're, what?.. ten miles apart?
Good thing you left the room, but you might want to lysol the tv.
What I was thinking was that if a place like NO got shook then more levees might break since they have so much water behind them now.
I do not know how to post images here but I am thinking of the cartoon guy with his head up his bum to characterize Geraldo tonight.
Now that sounds "normal" :')
OAXACA, MEXICO
I know it is hard to let them go. If I had gone, I probably would have done some needed growing-up, instead of trying to grow up now at almost 50. And I would have gotten to travel, and I would have all those cool 'sea stories' to tell ad nauseum. My son is just 15 and thinks the service is totally uncool, man. He is going through a 60's rehash. Peace and love, man. But I'm not worried about him, it's just a phase. All his peers are 60's flashbacks, it's the trend du jour. But even so, he loves to burn up ammo on the range and ridicule the loony left;)
Geraldo and Shep's combined IQ would not reach triple digits. I wonder what the cameramen with them think. THAT would be a good book!
As for "stuck on stupid"....I'm using it at work and everywhere possible at every possible opportunity. I want a bumper sticker that says "Conservatives: NOT Stuck on Stupid". Or a T shirt with the flooded buses of NO on the front and the caption "Stuck on Stupid", and then the bus caravan going out of Houston and the legend "NOT stuck on stupid" on the back.
Be? "big assed"? In what way do you mean that? Will it be like Hugo? Nope. Will it be nasty like a F1 or F2 tornado (except for the additonal storm surge)? Yep. Will it deteriorate rapidly, I thought I already explained that.
Here's the picture:
"The worst thunderstorm you can picture." This goes on continuosly for 3 days in the same location over 100's^2 miles. Is that "big assed"? You be the judge. I'm stating facts. Like 'em or leave 'em. Them's facts, Jack.
"Shep thinks Port Arthur won't flood according to Geraldo. WTF? I thought they were going to bear a major brunt of the storm."
You know, sometimes these clowns are STUCK ON STUPID!! Sheesh!!
Earth trembles as big winds move in
HURRICANES can trigger swarms of weak earthquakes and even set the Earth vibrating, according to the first study of such effects.....
