Tell me where along the MS coastline there are levees.

Just spoke to my sister in Katy, TX. She and hubby are riding it out...says the roads are too jammed to even try to evac now. They have water, flashlights and canned goods. Says Katy is about 100ft above sea level so they're not too worried about flooding, and the new track will take Rita east of the area, meaning they should be spared the worst part of the storm.

I'm still worried, though.

Follow the thread back and tell me where MS was mentioned in it until you did. Landfall was made prior to MS (heck, it made landfall in FL :-).

I don't really want to argue over it or be pendantic. I just wanted to point out that there's speculation that it was not as severe as previously believed when it hit LA--a factor to consider when rebuilding.
