Extremely dangerous Category 5 Hurricane Rita continues to threaten the Greater Houston Metropolitan area. The forecast track has shifted slightly to the northeast, increasing the risk to Southwest Louisiana, and a significant portion of the oil and gas operations in the Gulf of Mexico. Texas Governor Perry is urging all coastal residents between Beaumont and Corpus Christi to evacuate as soon as possible.

SUV, good car to drive after a ......
Bubba used it to run a looter run down
Do you think New York would secretly get a little thrill out of us getting Katrina'd?
So in any of the areas are the animals acting strange or migrating? That would be one of the most telling signs!
Ms. Casey's Daughter
salt and electrolytes, I think...
I'm sorry, but I don't trust levees build by The Army Corps of Engineers. Read the book Cadillac Desert and you will soon see just how dismal their record has been, particularly in California.
We had a tropical storm come in when we lived in Houston in the late 80's. It dropped 11" of rain on us, went up to East Texas, turned around, came back to Houston, and dropped another 12". Was that Allison?
Asked hubby if he's comfortable with the number of firearms we have. He pointed out that we have 1 for each member of the family. I pointed out that each member of the family has 2 hands. :)
I had to turn off Hannity because of the same thing.
Bush: Weak terror response led to 9/11 (Bush hits back at Clinton)
The models have a consistent left bias for the GOM storms, with Katrina being the exception.
Hard to one hand a .308, but my wife mentioned something similar the other day.
I was just reading in the paper where the rigs (all/some?) are built for 70' waves.
Apparently CNN didn't get the message--don't get stuck on stupid.
I have no reason to distrust them - but my point was that it was built to Cat 3, and this thing right now is a tad bigger.
I will look at Cadillac book sometime, tho.
I'm afraid you are correct.
I think you are just being modest. Google may provide the background but it is you who adapts it for the benefit of all of us in Hurricane Alley. Apparently, your employer appreciates your skills too. :)
you mean....you mean.....(gasp) he's a huckster!?!?!?...lol
I know my in-laws got up at 3:00 AM and had driven from Humble to Livingston (55 miles) as of 2:00 PM, so 17 hours sounds pretty good.
Nasa ship Liberty Star is reporting 50+ mph winds at her position....
That's little more than an Ocean tug. Betting this isn't the most comfortable ride about now!
