OK now it's "Holy Sh*t time",right?
What can possibly slow this thing down?

wind sheer, colder water, something to steer it to a less populated area - are any of these things in the cards now?

What can possibly slow this thing down? Prayer? At this point, I don't think anything else will.

(They can bus 'em to the polls, but they can't bus 'em out of the path of a Cat 5 hurricane.)

Wind, cold air, cold water or land. There is no wind due to high pressure in the area (which is the reason it's missing LA this time) and because of the high pressure its H-O-T in the entire area right now -- that leaves land... and the cooler water right off the coast of Texas, but if this thing is a high CAT5 when it hits the cooler water it's likely to have a lot of momentum and still going to be pretty dangerous.... and Houston is on it's right side -- which doesn't bode well for Houston...
wonder if they started evacuating the hospitals like MD Anderson???
