I would rather err on the side of conservatism so we would make sure we have everyone out," Mayor Ray Nagin said
Bet he hated using that "C" word, conservatism.
Conservatism = Common sense, he might finally be getting it.
Under pressure from President Bush...
"Erring" on the side of conservatism, would be the first time that Nagin hasn't erred. Come over to the light,Mayor Nagin, and redeem yourself. We conservatives will welcome you and your conversion,if sincere.
"Happy Days are here again,"
Says New Orleans mayor Ray Nagin.
"Yes, the water's down,
So come to town.
Happy days are here again."
Why is he still mayor?
Who the heck is in charge of N.O. rebuilding? I understand that everyone is involved, but is there a final decision maker on issues? Nagin, Blanco, Allen, Rove? There needs to be one person in place to make the big decisions.
And it better not be Nagin or Blanco if they are using Fed dollars.
But orders from the DNC were to get all those voters back in town before they get settled elsewhere.
What to do?
Once again Nagin is the problem.
I see a trend, the Mayor evacuates too late and returns too quick. Brain fart.
He didn't finish the sentence: "I would rather err on the side of conservatism and thereby protect folks, than to err on the side of liberalism and thereby continue to put folks at risk."
The heck you would, you weasel. Thank goodness the feds carried the day.
Since when do NOLA politicians cave in to fed pressure?
What is NOLA now, a federalized city like Stennis Space Center a few miles down the I-10, that it caves in to fed pressure?
Why isn't NOLA doin' what it's always done? (Be brazen in conduct; and blatantly defy levy risks and hurricane evac warnings).
Perhaps if NO gets wiped out twice in the space of a month, it'll bring a bit of pause to Bush's Big Government instincts to spend hundreds of billions of other people's confiscated money to rebuild a coastal welfare state below sea level.
NOLA's first rebuilding landmark will be to rival St. Louis' arch up the river, only instead of a giant arch, NOLA will erect a huge revolving door that moves in whatever direction the wind is blowin'.
I wonder if he has gotten the buses out of the flooded parking lots, yet?
I like the bit "so we would make sure we have everyone out". Does that mean they finally have the buses dried out and have checked all the nursing homes?
