I need help. I got into a shouting match with a "friend" in a store today. He informed me that the hurricane disaster relief from the Red Cross was indeed held up by the Louisiana branch of FEMA, but that FEMA in LA is run by a Republican who was part of the Bush plot to starve/kill Black people. This is insanity, of course.
But I'm wondering. Is the Louisiana head of FEMA a Republican, and who appointed him.
Blanco's Blockade: Governor Refuses Red Cross Access to Superdome, Convention Center
"Access to New Orleans is controlled by the National Guard and local authorities and while we are in constant contact with them, we simply cannot enter New Orleans against their orders.
"The (Louisiana) State Homeland Security Department had requested--and continues to request-- that the American Red Cross not come back into New Orleans following the hurricane. Our presence would keep people from evacuating and encourage others to come into the city."
-- American Red Cross
"The Red Cross was ready. I just got off the phone with one of their officials. They had a vanguard... of trucks with water, food, hygiene equipment, all sorts of things ready to go, where? To the Superdome and the convention center.
"Why werent they there? The Louisiana Department of Homeland Security told them they could not go.
"FEMA works with the Red Cross, the Salvation Army, and other organizations, but it has no direct control to order them to go one place or the other. The states own agency devoted to the states homeland security told them, 'You cannot go there.'
"Why? The Red Cross tells me that state agency in Louisiana said, 'Look, we do not want to create a magnet for more to come to the Superdome or the convention center. We want to get them out.'
So at the same time local officials were screaming, 'Where is the food? Where is the water?' The Red Cross was standing by ready. The Louisiana Department of Homeland Security said, 'You cant go.'
"The governor... did use the Louisiana National Guard for some purposes, (but) did not deploy them in massive numbers initially. And they were not used to move any of these relief organizations in. And they could have been... The state decided they didnt want the relief organizations where the people needed it most, because they wanted those people to get out."

That's a great story in that it fits with the preconceived notion that Republicans hate black people. Its not a TRUE story of course, but it sure must sound good if you are a moonbat.
It looks like from his bio that he was appointed to his position in the National Guard by whoever was governor of Louisiana in 1997. I'm not sure when this other office was established, or when he was appointed director. However, it is a certainty he was appointed to his positions by the Louisiana governor, not the President.
You are right. I should have just walked off and said "see ya later." Such stupidity isn't worth the trouble. Fortuantely, I rarely ever see this guy, and now that I know where he works I can avoid him.

Your right. I checked and did find the spelling is different.
Thanks..
Tell him in your conspiratorial voice the the "truth" is much scarier than that. Make sure you look figity and scared and then say something about Dick Cheney's Hurricane machine of doom (contracted out to Haliburton).
You can't bring up facts to moonbats, so humor them.
Although his medallions make him appear to be a very decorated officer, it would also seem that he was on just about every board concerned with planning, handling, policing, directing, and dealing with a statewide crisis, like the hurricane.
Since the State efforts turned out so poorly, one wonders was he just a part of the siphoning off of federal funds?
Is this why Landrieu, Blanco, and Nagin appeared so helpless? Why they started pointing fingers so quickly, while there were still many to be rescued?
Then why did they lock them in?
My personal policy is to treat all liberals as though they are mentally retarded. That way, when they start spouting out that gibberish, I just smile and agree with them. When you think of them in that frame of mind, you can easily understand why they don't make any sense, but they still are entitled to a friendly smile.
Maj. Gen. Bennett Landreneau was appointed to head the LNG by previous Republican Gov. Mike Foster. The head of LNG serves some kind of limited term, and it would seem unusual to me if such an appointment was too political. I believe Gov. Blanco will have an opportunity to re-appoint him, so we shall see.
His buddy hates Bush, but he's a racist as well.
The best way to handle such moonbats is look at him with a great expression of concern and say " you aren't suppose to now that" Turn your back and punch some numbers into your cell phone. Act like you are being told how to handle the situation. When you get off the phone turn to your friend and say " That was close, I gotta be honest maybe you should stay in your house for awhile". Then leave.
I'm white and when my house was flooded, I just called Bush and he made the water go around my property and all my white neighbors properties. He had Marine One drop catered food to my house and upgraded me to the NFL sunday ticket. All this, just cause I'm white. What a swell President.
Filthy libs will lie about anything
Get a new friend. People who believe these raving 'Bush intentionally kills blacks' lunatic conspiracy theories are too unstable to be close to.
