Anybody starting a pool to see if we make storm Alpha?

Not that I'm aware of, but I think the odds are pretty high that we'll actually see Alpha this year.

We better not see Omega.

It would mess up some deer stands, cattle pens, a few ranch houses, and not much more.

Actually, that storm that went in there a few years ago took out a bunch of windmills used to pump water for cattle. They were all uninsured. I can't remember the dollar figure of the damage, but it was more than you would have expected. Still, all in all, it is the best place for a hurricane to go. I'm not sure the King Ranch people would agree, though :)

Oil and gas are already up. I think investors are already getting jitters.

As long as Rita is a threat to TX or LA, we can expect oil and gas jitters, for sure. Thanks for the update.

Yes ma'am, considering I'm only in college. ;)

One day, you will be talking about something like Scrubs and kids will cock their heads at you like, ''WHAT?!'' Just wait, your turn is coming! ;) susie

http://www.storm2k.org is a more purely tropically-focused forum.

Well based on the 8PM advisory the center has reformed further North and it's moving Northwest so before worrying about Houston you really have to still think about Miami.

Yeah, but you can't compare 'Scrubs' to shows like; The Cisco Kid, Zorro, Roy Rogers, Hopalong Cassidy, Amos 'n Andy, The Three Stooges, Our Gang..... ;-}

I recommend them highly for watching during hurricanes, if you like comedies that is.

Sadly, we lose electricity at the mere mention of a hurricane here!

I'm ignoring your other comment!

I know that, and you know that....but some people actually have never seen those shows of which you speak (I've never seen Scrubs, but it is apparently a real show....)

Gotta confess. I've never watched Scrubs, either. I rarely watch any network TV before 10 pm.
