My very first concert was Paul McCartney & Wings, the "Wings Over America" Tour, L.A. Forum, 1976.
Amazing show.
I'll probably try to make it to this one as well.

Pass. The late Bobby Hatfield of the "Righteous Brothers" sang the way that Paul McCartney wised that he could. Furthermore, McCartney butchered "Twist and Shout" way back when. Never bought a Beatles record, never will.

I couldn't get tickets to any venue close to Cincinnati so I surprised my wife (same age as you) with tickets at Madison Square Garden. Sounds like it will be a great show!

I will never forgive Yoko for breaking up Wings.

When's Yoko going on her tour? I think I'll wait for that one.

Thanks for the review... I haven't seen McCartney live, but would love to hear all those old songs.

Thanks for the review rodomila. I know what you mean about local reviews being off the mark. Cohen probably didn't get what he wanted back stage ;o) I saw Paul's half-time show at the Super Bowl and it absolutely rocked! The whole tour is probably close to sold out already but if I can...i'll try to make it. Thanks again for posting.

Sorry, but if I had my way, I'd give Mark Chapman two more bullets and a parole.
Then maybe we could get a rest from The Beatles.

A lifelong Beatles fan myself (notice my nick?), I've seen Harrison twice (1974), Ringo's All Starr Band three times, and McCartney three times, with the forth being next month in NYC. While I was never much of a fan of his post-Beatles stuff either, he does put on a great show with about 50% being Beatles tunes ... and thats the reason why I go see 'im :)

Paul McCartney Tour Kicks Off in MiamiMy sister has a theory that the Beatles are dying off in order of musical talent. John Lennon died young. Paul McCartney will probably live forever.
For those who want to argue, listen to some Wings albums before you do. Yuck.

Always hated the Beatles, but if I had to pick one, let's just say that I wish Mark David Chapman had hated McCartney.

As an observant FReeper observed here recently, this pop singer is the Perry Como of the boomer generation.
Beyond that, reading in the past couple of days an interview with McCartney and a review of a Stones appearance, I realized that while these dudes may be doing it for the money, they are also intelligent and creative enough where they're doing it to explore various ideas and concepts, musical and otherwise, which makes for something interesting in and of itself.
