Dear Amy: I'd like to be in a relationship again, but I never even get asked out (unless you count frisky 85-year-olds and drunks at the corner bar). I'm a 32-year-old woman who's happy, sociable, and attractive. (I paid for college by modeling and continue to take care of myself.) I'm second-in-command at a big company, financially secure, and own a beautiful home. How can I meet men in general, and more specifically, men I'd actually want to date?

Dear Deluxe: To scare away vampires, it takes garlic and crosses, which make ugly bulges in sleek, satin evening bags. Luckily, all you have to do to scare away men is pull out a business card that says ''senior vice president.''
''Power is the ultimate aphrodisiac,'' said Henry Kissinger. Sure it is unless you're a woman. Research by Stephanie L. Brown and Brian P. Lewis, published in Evolution and Human Behavior (Nov. '04), seems to confirm what many lonely women at the top already know: When guys go for the woman in the boardroom, it isn't the woman running the meeting but the secretary who wheeled in the coffee and croissants before it started.
Sure, plenty of men will scamper up the corporate ladder for a one-night stand. But, according to Brown and Lewis' study, men looking for dates or relationships tend to prefer their subordinates to their colleagues or bosses. The researchers hypothesize that men evolved to want women they can control as a means of guarding against ''parental uncertainty'' unwittingly raising kids fathered by the Neanderthal next door as their own. Brown and Lewis think this may also explain why men are suckers for ''behavioral expressions of vulnerability'' women who act like they might not be able to make it across the street

Not. If she wants a man, what does she want him for? To be available when she can get away from the office? You get what you give.
Thanks!

More than you think. You're a keeper.
One major difference I've noticed between men and women is that women are more into "hints" and more sensitive about picking up on hints.
Ladies, if you want a guy to ask you out, don't rely too much on "hints". Directly saying to him "Hey, I think you're cute/funny/charming/whatever" works a lot better
Now that you mention it, yes I do. I wasn't intentionally quoting him however.

Agreed. We men are simple, dumb animals, easily trained and housebroken. Treat us right; don't the rules too complicated; let us maintain a few of our illusions (we're in charge, football is important, WD-40 smells good), and we'll be as cuddly, affectionate, and loyal as you could ever want.
What else do you want to know?
Can you ship one Fed-Ex overnight?
Chuckling. Um, you are in charge and football is important. WD-40 does smell good. It smells like...men!
My girlfreind makes over 16 times my income.
I must admit, there are akward times being involved with such a high powered woman. Lucky for me, she loves Jesus and was brought up well.
And at least prostitutes have some idea of "customer care".

You are a busy boy - tell me you have help running that website?
Fortunately in my single days I had the kind of career that put me in a great advantage.
Take a single gal who is a fishing fool, give her a big old Triton bassboat, point her to a good bass lake and the next thing you know she's surrounded by men.
Since the majority of women don't fish it can be downright dangerous out there for an outdoorsy woman.
Seriously, I never looked for love (a mistake a lot of single women I know make) but I usually had no trouble running into it by accident when I least expected it.
No. It's OK, the systems work well.
