I can never understand why there is a NAACP and yet no NAAWP. Why is there a Miss Black America and yet no Miss White America? Why is there a BTV yet no WTV?

It appears you can only be a racist if you are white.
I've gotten dumb hicks from the country say "Hey boy, you like fried chicken" at the state fair when me and a white woman were going out. I've been harassed by rual police officers. I even saw racism from a learder of my former church. So to me, black on white racism seems much worse, just because it's the only thing I've seen. Of course, I'm not a pregnant white woman who had the unfortunate experience of having a group of black kids run a shopping cart into my abdomen.
Because they're relics of an era where an ethnic minority was told they were not good enough to compete with white people, that's why.
But they still do exist because it's simply not easy to get rid of a major part of history.
Yes, I realise you responded. That is not the issue in this case. The issue is how you responded. You displayed no empathy.

It will never be gotten rid of as long as the race card is slapped down. I mean, jeez, hurricane Katrina is a racist hurricane because mainly blacks were affected? An example of the race card being played at it's most moronic level. When it gets to the point where mother nature and natural disasters are being called racist. When there are black people saying that Bush blew up the levees to drown black people, how does a rational person respond to such irrationality? It's time to stop responding to such nonsense and call a spade a spade. We have no control over hurricanes. If you live in Louisiana, expect hurricanes, we've had 'em for hundreds of years.

Historical context. These pageants were formed when a black woman could not compete for Miss America. Those days are long since past. And I believe that Miss Black America should also go the way of the dodo bird. It's unnecesary.

I wish we could do away with anything that has the separation of races in their titles. I haven't watched beauty pageant for decades.
Jessie Jackass and Rev. Sharpton, didn't do anything but try and stir up racism when they were there. They survive by inciting and inviting problems. Should we ever start to acting like people should...they'll be out of a job.

These threads suck, and while you may not have said it, the undercurrent of racism is undeniable, though difficult to prove, post by post.
On occasion you ask me questions on Jewish issues, so I'll pose one.
We're commanded to protect our neighbors property. Also to protect the widow, orphan, and stranger (on target here)
I admit I'm being presumptuous, but imo were Jesus on that bridge, he'd have tended to the infirm, the children, the hungry, as our sages would have.
For a site that screams bloody murder about the display of the Ten Commandments and Christmas trees, both of which i support, there's a real disconnect at work here.
