They can stall, but if they start dragging it out much longer it's going to become obvious even to the maroons who support them. People aren't paying attention now anyway, they are focused on Hurricane Katrina and the upcoming TV season.

I don't think the Dems are willing to risk the criticism and backlash that will happen if they delay for too long. The only thing they'd have in their favor is an ineffective Republican leadership willing to exploit their drag-assing.

Roberts setting Kennedy straight on actual words in an EEOC memo. Telling Kennedy he has to read "the prior sentence". Kennedy blubbers he wants to "go on" as his time is getting short...

i hope you're right. Sounds plausible to me. I think the end of the day will give a good indication of when this will end.

I am waiting on the "deeply troubled" and "we need more time" crowd to show up.
