Calling yourself a "modest" as Roberts did and brushing off words like "originalist" and "constitutionalist" is very distrubing to this conservative.

And to this conservative as well. I had hoped and prayed that Bush would take this once in a lifetime opportunity to turn the USSC back into a court which respects and obeys the original intent of the authors. What I am hearing today is not encouraging.

If Roberts turns out to be any less conservative than Rehnquist, and if O'Conner is replaced with another so-called "moderate", the US is doomed to continue down it's present gradual decline into a European-style socialistic cesspool and eventual destruction.
