I heard there's a place were you can get a good deal on some submerged school buses.

I'll buy some of them school subs if they have good periscopes!

All police officers are to remain on duty through out the blackout. Looters will be running wild tonight. I do have more confidence in the L.A.P.D over the N.O.P.D however.

Has anybody been over to DU.

Haven't been there, but this is obviously a botched attempt to distract attention from the cluster[censored] of BushCO's failed response to the victims down there. They cut the wrong power lines - minority areas were supposed to be affected.

(Or something about black box voting, Halliburton, etc..)

I think the moderators pulled the thread explaining that a worker accidentally cut a line. Something about being a duplicate thread.

Anyway, this is what these threads are always like.

huge solar flares

This was more like a huge terrian dork.

Looks like the guy managed to short something out. When that happens, the breakers blow, and you have to go isolate all the sections of the grid, then bring them back online one at a time. A friend in the valley says she's watching DWP trucks fly by at the rate of about one a minute.

Press conference...

A line was mistakenly cut at a distribution station, attached to another line that wasn't expecting that much power, which then tripped control sequences all the way back to power generators. Power should be coming up by about 4pm everywhere, though some areas might have rolling blackouts as they balance the energy load.

At least they'll stay on the job.
