No, I have been reading about it on the LA Chowhound (hopefully you have found them). Polka gets rave reviews ... and it's a terrific place to find some great ethnics dives. One of my local favs is Tacos Delta on Sunset and it has a nice arbor in the back where you can eat al fresco.

I used to eat at Barragan's every Saturday and Sunday in the bar area for years during Laker's seasons. But I haven't been in there in ages.

I just withstood the Sunset Junction Fair 2 weeks ago as it is just down the street from me. Gah!

The fragility of our energy infrastructure is a manifestation of Democratic politics.

"We could never come together and win another WWII in todays age."

You speak the sad truth with that one.

Will now every single solitary glitch in the infrastructure of this nation, or every single Act of God become a political football??? AAAUGGRH!

ROFLMAO

Yes, Arnold and his fund raising must be responsible for LADWP staff making mistakes. Republicans are obviously responsible for all problems that anyone faces and Democrats are obviously responsible for all solutions. If you don't believe me just ask a prominent Democrat.

I thought you might like to hear the official party line as to what happened. The debate in our office is that someone cut a bundle of control wires. The Sept 13th WSCC Daily Report indicates....

Yesterday/Weekend/Holiday Notable Events:
At 1232 PDT on Monday, September 12, 2005 LDWP reported that a major 230-kV receiving station was forced out of service causing the loss of approximately 725 MW of load, which resulted in high voltage in SCE area.

At 1239 LDWP manually shed approximately 250 MW of load to stabilize their system.

At 1305 CAISO reported that the 230-kV receiving station breaker’s relayed again, halfway through LDWP attempt at restoration causing large voltage swings throughout the SCE system which in turn caused LDWP to manually drop an additional 1,250 MW of load.

At 1356 LDWP restored all load. A Preliminary Disturbance Report has been prepared and is available on the WECC website.

Yesterday’s Non-simultaneous Peaks, Reserves, and Generation Limitations at time of Peak Area Peak Demand
