Hurricane Ophelia continues to churn off the off the coast of the Carolinas with a track that has confounded computer models and meteorologists for days. Hurricane watches are issued for much of the SC and NC coastline. Northern GA and southern VA coastal areas are currently within the three day cone of uncertainty. Check local NWS service for updates.

Just talked to my niece; she's had power flickering but nothing except winds and lots of rain.
Her only problem is that her dogs want to go outside and STAND in the storm!

at 11 am EDT...1500z...the Hurricane Warning has been extended
northward to the North Carolina/Virginia border. A Hurricane Warning
is now in effect from Little River Inlet to the North
Carolina/Virginia border...including the Pamlico and Albemarle
sounds.
At 11 am EDT...a Hurricane Watch and a Tropical Storm Warning are in
effect north of the North Carolina/Virginia border to Cape Charles
Light Virginia...including the Chesapeake Bay south of New Point
Comfort.
Airlie Road closed; it's near the ICCW; trees down, water up.

Looks like the eye will "touch" Bald Head Island.
