This evening, shortly after 11:20, Anderson Cooper was interviewing Eddie Compass on the evacuation. It sort of went like this..."Chief, did the city do everything possible to evacuate everyone possible the night before the storm? Did the mayor ask for extra buses?"
About that time you couuld see fast Eddie get confused because a reporter strayed from the DNC talking points and blurted out, "We asked for more buses, we BEGGED for more buses." Then he added, the buses in New Orleans were surrounded by water and we couldn't get to them!"
It went down hill after that.
How were the school buses under water before the hurricane came? Hmmmmm?

Thought I heard Cooper ask the Chief about the evacuation plan (at the end of the interview) and the Chief saying that he couldn't say anything more because "legal" was looking into it.

Hilarious! The chief was all Mister In-Charge until it came time for specific answers about the failurs (and current policies) of NO city government. Then he couldn't pass the buck fast enough!
The city appears also to have lawyered up. Wonder what they're trying to hide ...

The night before the hurricane they were surrounded by water? I don't think so!!
This guy so doesn't impress me. Who does impress me is the Captain that is directly below him. Watched Dan Abrams interview him night-before-last. The wrong person is running that department.

Two questions for anyone: (1) What does FUBAR stand for? (2) Why do they call New Orleans "The Crescent City"?
Thanks!

The clown has now ordered the seizing of private firearms by the NOPD Nazis.
The stupid SOB needs to be arrested on federal felony charges relating to violating civil Rights.

I had to look twice, but Police Supt Eddie Compass had his badge on UPSIDE DOWN tonight, too. Is a message being sent? I saw another report showing the symbol on a NOPD t-shirt and the star definitely goes with the single point up.
Do you suppose anyone decided to tell him, "Hey, Chief, you might want to take a look at your badge?"

Found this quote on a local forum:
Quote of the Day "If Sen. Mary Landrieu were as good at busing black people to safety as she was at busing them to the polls to vote, none of them would have died."

Here's the true picture of the dynamics involved:
1) The Dims demand an investigation of the Katrina-related failures
2) The Republicans agree, and begin to establish the ground-rules for the investigating committee
3) The Dims suddenly realize they're about to be hoisted on their own petard and refuse to be on such a committee (See Pelosi)
4) The MSM suddenly realize that the local Dims' failures will be revealed to the nation, so they reverse course, and begin to ask some tough questions
5) Drama Queen Compass loses it when he's asked a couple of these tough questions
6) FReepers laugh derisively at Compass
