My daughter was at her son's school and they had a little girl from Slidell. About 8 years old. Daughter talked to her a few minutes and she said she didn't know anyone. My daughter said her eyes told the story,,they just haunted her, so sad. Made her cry.
We'll watch them though...
So sad to see haunting eyes in a child. Breaks your heart.
Things have been unreal here. Our city has grown 3 fold. Everyone has left New Orleans and Mississippi and came here. We have been busy, I have not had a day off in over 2 weeks. We(myself and work employees) have been going to the shelters in my(our) spare time. I can't put into words how f^%ked up it is to see kids walking around with nothing but fear and heartache, to see grown men's eyes with a lost look in them. The smiles we put on there faces even for a short time with a hot meal and some toys is something I will never forget. I will be off Monday and Tuesday and will Spend most of the day and night feeding them and trying to have the work shuttle the parents with kids to my complex to go swimming. The complex is cool with it,so will see how it goes. For my Friends in Florida it will be impossible to get to the game this weekend, The out of Pocket expense it has cost me for food and toys for these people has made it all but impossible. I wish I was there with you guys showing off my brand new son, but I need to do this for myself as much as for the kids that have lost everything. Please have a Shot or 10 of crown for me. And LETS GO CANES!!!!!!!!
